[Kasugano Sora cosplay] An Encounter Between Spring Cherry blossom and Yosuga no Sora

The late-blooming Cherry blossom at Chenshan Botanical Garden was flourishing beautifully this spring, so I took advantage of the fine weather to shoot this look. The wig is light blonde; I spent quite some time styling it before heading out, adding two hair pieces at the crown to build a rounded curve, while the twin tails on both sides required careful hairspray fixation to keep the wind from messing them up. In particular, the wispy bangs across the forehead had to be gently curled with a curling iron to look natural. For makeup, I chose reddish-brown eyeshadow, defining the lower eyelid line and aegyo sal, and wore reddish-brown circle lenses to make the gaze appear more ethereal. The base makeup was kept very light, mainly using soft-focus loose powder for oil control—since outdoor shoots easily get oily, I kept powder in my bag for frequent touch-ups. For lip makeup, I deliberately chose a rosy, hydrated texture because we designed a flower-biting pose, and the lips needed to look plump and glossy on camera. The shooting prop was a freshly fallen blossom, which looked very natural. Before shooting, I specifically touched up my lipstick in the restroom—capturing close-ups really demands attention to detail. The pure white shirt posed a challenge: this fabric easily overexposes and becomes sheer under strong lighting, requiring precise control over exposure compensation. To highlight the collar and the silver chain on the chest, we intentionally sought out side-backlit angles. To keep the clothing neat and wrinkle-free, I even smoothed it with a handheld garment steamer midway through, as outdoor shoots easily soil the fabric. Sunlight filtering through leaves cast dappled shadows onto the white shirt; this lighting effect felt far more natural and softer than studio strobes. Paired with the park's lush green foliage and pink Cherry blossom petals, the color palette matched beautifully. Yesterday afternoon's sunlight was wonderful, with warm tones acting as a built-in filter. However, there were many tourists, so to avoid background clutter, we mostly opted for close-up and half-body framing, slightly turning sideways or tilting my head to better use surrounding flower branches as foreground. In makeup, I slightly adjusted the intensity of contouring, as shadows along the nose and jawline need to be deeper under natural light to show 3D dimension on camera. For this set, pinching leaves in my hand, holding petals between my lips, and leaning against blossoming branches, I explored more tranquil, quiet states. Since white clothing and light blonde hair tend to turn overly translucent under backlighting, the photographer deliberately sought shaded spots beneath trees, utilizing selective shadows to add depth and layering. During color grading, we dialed in translucent Cherry blossom pink and soft yellow tones, keeping the skin texture clean. The entire experience was wonderful; the Cherry blossom ambiance perfectly matched the 2D character's vibe in Yosuga no Sora, making for a truly satisfying outdoor photoshoot.
