Today, I took this set of photos for Kasugano Sora cosplay from Yosuga no Sora against the night backdrop of the Chengdu Anime Convention (Chengdu World Line). For the wig, I selected silver-white long straight twin tails, trimming blunt bangs with a small black bow clipped onto the right side of the crown. To give the hairstyle an organic, slightly tousled feel, I deliberately didn't comb it overly smooth during styling, preserving the fluffiness at the tips. Makeup focused primarily on the eyes: wearing purple colored contacts, with the base makeup kept fair to tone down facial flush, accentuating a fragile, sickly, and cool-aloof aura.

The costume has plenty of intricate details. The dress is a long white tulle gown featuring a ruffled high collar, with the black ribbon bow and rhinestone buckle on the chest serving as the visual focal point. The sleeves are short with lace trim along the edges, and the skirt consists of multi-layered sheer tulle that displays rich depth when backlit. A white belt with a metal buckle was added at the waist, cinching the waistline while injecting a subtle touch of gothic aesthetic. For legwear, wearing White stockings with black patent-leather Mary Janes, the straps and low block heels kept walking very steady. The prop was this gray lop-eared bunny plush with black button eyes and a light ribbon tied around its neck, feeling wonderfully soft to the touch.

The shooting location was set at night against pure darkness, broken only by scattered bokeh lights from distant city buildings. Night lighting is genuinely tricky: because the dress is white, the slightest lapse in exposure control results in overexposure, blowing out the lace and tulle details. The key light was placed directly in front with fill light from the side, which not only sculpted facial contours with greater dimension, but also gave the wig a soft sheen against the dark backdrop. To complement the ambient mood, the posing design leaned toward quiet stillness and subtle detachment.

For full-body shots, I experimented with placing one hand on my hip while holding the bunny dangling at my side with the other. This not only utilized the arm line to outline the waist while letting the skirt drape naturally, but also showcased the overall coordination of White stockings and Mary Jane shoes. The shots reaching out offering the rabbit were meant to create an interactive connection with the lens; while my facial expression remained tranquil, I added a hint of innocence and focused intent to my gaze. Moments cradling the bunny against my chin or looking down in silence were attempts to capture that distracted, aloof dissociation. The sheer tulle skirt produced delicate highlights under nighttime illumination, capturing different textures with subtle shifts in posture.

After a full day at the expo, although this outfit was rather complex to wear, the final photos completely lived up to expectations. The contrast between nighttime darkness and pristine white fabric made the frame resemble a paused cinematic scene. From the layering of the wig to the folds of the skirt, down to the specular reflection on the patent-leather shoes, every detail stands up to scrutiny. It was a wonderful shooting experience—the visuals are clean, and the emotional mood of Sora-chan was captured just right.
