[Rei Ayanami cosplay] First Experience with Neon Genesis Evangelion Blue & White Maid Outfit

This photoshoot was my first time trying Rei Ayanami's Maid outfit look, maintaining the cool, serene detachment characteristic of Neon Genesis Evangelion (EVA). The core costume is a vibrant blue puff-sleeve dress with subtle luster, layered under a crisp white ruffled apron. Featuring a high-collar neckline trimmed with white accents, a striking yellow ribbon bow sits at the chest accented by a smaller red ribbon below. The white ruffled headband with blue leaf motifs frames the hairstyle neatly.

The wig was styled to fit snugly, with slightly longer bangs grazing the eyebrows to capture her distant aura. High-saturation red contact lenses paired with a minimalist, clean base emphasized an unbothered, steady gaze. Staged inside a vintage cafe, props including porcelain cups, saucers, a printed menu, and cloche trays grounded the scene with quiet purpose.

We balanced two lighting setups: warm ambient lighting that gave her blue dress and porcelain skin a luminous translucency, and a cool blue tone through window glass that mirrored her 2D anime aesthetic. White pantyhose Stockings layered beneath the dress hem maintained crisp proportions. By keeping physical motions minimal and precise, the blend of her aloof demeanor with maid-service approachability brought out a charming contrast in this Neon Genesis Evangelion Maid outfit set.
