[First Snow cosplay] Arknights CPSP Anime Convention: A Record of the Authentic Experience

Finishing this First Snow cosplay styling at the CPSP Anime Convention, from doing makeup in front of the booth in the morning to taking the last group photo in the evening, I gathered so many details I want to share. This outfit looks light, but handling it was quite intricate. Just for the white wig, I had to use plenty of styling spray to secure the braids on both sides so they wouldn't unravel in the crowded crowd. The string of blue-and-black beads on the forehead and the small golden pendants dangling on both sides required extreme caution while walking to prevent them from catching in the hair. Although the white scarf looks warm, it felt rather stifling in the muggy atmosphere of the venue. To complement that cool and serene aura, I deliberately chose light blue contact lenses and sculpted sharp, clean makeup contours to stay as true to the character's temperament as possible, complete with Animal ears details.

The convention hall was packed, and as soon as I stepped in, I felt the unique bustle of CPSP. Along the way, I met many people who recognized my character, and everyone kindly came over for Convention photos. Taking Polaroids is also a popular interactive convention tradition; I snapped a photo with a friend wearing a red hat, and watching the image slowly develop gave a satisfying sense of instant-film ceremony. The most unforgettable moment was when pulling merchandise: with a casual 'try my luck' mindset, I unexpectedly pulled the very character I was cosplaying on my first blind pass draw! The thrill of that surprise is still vivid. Looking at the pass in my hand, I felt a deep resonance in everyone's love for this character and a strong sense of validation—truly realizing that our precious First Snow is genuinely loved.

After the convention wrapped up, we didn't disperse immediately, but gathered at a hot pot restaurant. Everyone brought homemade bunny plushies and arranged them across the table, creating a wonderful sense of ceremony. As the hot pot bubbled, people raised their transparent holographic card cases, trading cards they had pulled. Then, everyone pulled out their phones in unison, displaying glowing gacha pull screens; the joy of rolling together in person is something screen chats can never replace. Once back at the hotel for the grand haul showcase, I cleared the bed and laid out all the merch I bought—can badges, acrylic stands, postcards, artbooks—a dazzling array covering the whole bed. Looking at this bed full of spoils, all the day's fatigue vanished instantly.

This convention not only fulfilled my wish to portray this character, but also rewarded me with countless precious memories. From the makeup and costume prep to convention interactions and the final dinner gathering, I deeply felt the sense of belonging that the community brings. I truly enjoy the process of bringing characters to life in Arknights, and I look forward to attending future conventions with the same enthusiasm. Looking back at this CPSP Anime Convention, everything was completely worthwhile.
