[Texas the Omertosa & Lappland the Decadenza cosplay] Arknights Twin Wolves Siracusan Street Showdown

For this Arknights duo set featuring Texas the Omertosa and Lappland the Decadenza, when shooting photos a while ago, I thought we must capture that slightly retro yet cool Siracusan atmosphere. Since this was a duo combination, we communicated character interaction details well in advance.

A lot of effort went into the costumes this time. I portrayed Texas the Omertosa cosplay, preserving the capable pairing of a "white shirt, black vest, and blue tie," specifically picking collar pins and belt buckles with metallic hollow-carved textures. As for the wig, silver-grey long straight hair was combined with plush ear accessories, where the earring metal rings had to have a slight dangling drape. My partner's Lappland the Decadenza was another style altogether: a black leather jacket over a white shirt, paired with iconic red-and-black gloves and layered metal chains—the tailing details of the chains added great points. For makeup, to fit character temperaments, we both wore special contact lenses to intensify the sharpness in our eyes.

The shooting location was chosen in an indoor retro villa, where dark red walls, European oil paintings, and a chandelier overhead maxed out the atmosphere instantly. This scene inherently provided a strong visual foundation reflecting the heavy historical weight of the Siracusan Texas family in Arknights. For lighting, we primarily used warm light supplemented by cool top light, allowing the textures of wigs and outfits to be clearly displayed—especially reflections on metallic hardware, which stood out brilliantly against dark-toned frames.

Interactive snapshots were a section we valued greatly during this shoot. The photo biting a thin wooden stick aimed to restore a lazy, easygoing state. In the dual photo set, we intentionally added physical contact prompts—such as grabbing a collar—which not only enriched visual composition but also gave the dynamic between this Twin Wolves cosplay duo greater tension. When shooting close-up photos side by side, bangs and hair edges needed to avoid overlapping awkwardly in composition to prevent looking overly heavy; adjusting hair strand directions truly took a long time.

During the shoot, we also played around with black-and-white cat meme trends circulating on the internet—filming multiple takes of mouth-covering and middle-finger gestures. While appearing as silly, goofy interactions, eyes and hand movements had to follow precisely, as recreating memes is an extended joy of cosplay after all. When photos came out, everyone found them hilarious, balancing out the cool and solemn narrative atmosphere.

Through this photo set, I truly felt that conveying the bond between characters through static images cannot be achieved by one person alone. Thanks to my incredibly synced partner whose seamless tacit cooperation with preset poses and gazes ultimately produced an effect carrying both narrative depth and the vivid vitality unique to real-life cosplay.
