Going through my photo album and spotting this vault set, I decided to post it. I chose a top-down, high-angle perspective for the shooting angle, mainly wanting to show off the leg details and mechanical feel of this costume. The boots feature a red and blue color-blocking design, and the fastening straps feel very solid. The metallic armor on the finger joints acts as an accent that enhances the combat atmosphere.
I mentioned in my post returning to Shanghai recently, and the flavors of my hometown were indeed irresistible—the 5 pounds I worked so hard to shed quickly found their way back. Looking at my current weight, I set a small goal for myself, hoping to lose another 15 pounds this year. However, when shooting in this gear, I distinctly felt these accessories digging into my skin. To conform to the look, I really had to keep my core tight, which also subtly reminded me that the photos will turn out even better after refining my posture and losing more weight later on.
Getting back to the fidelity of this mecha-style styling, the black thigh strap paired with star-shaped ornaments serves as a visual focal point. The black stockings section features a unique hollowed-out spliced design; such details prevent the monochromatic tone from looking dull, presenting a sharp combat-ready state instead. The metal buckle on the belt has a substantial, tactile quality; the silver-gray metal contrasts against the black leather belt, and together with the red waist pouch, it adds rich color layering. I feel that in cosplay presentation, beyond basic makeup and hair, the accuracy of these physical accessories often determines the final ambient mood.
My condition wasn't at its absolute best on the day of the shoot—having just landed recently, I was somewhat bloated—but thankfully, this tricky angle masked some of the fatigue. Selecting a cement-gray industrial floor for the background, complemented by scattered power strips and cables, actually enhanced that raw, everyday street-combat atmosphere. Sorting through these backlogged vault photos feels a lot like reading through my own styling notebook; whenever I re-examine the photos, I always recall the hassle of putting on this gear. From positioning the straps to adjusting the boots, every single step required immense patience.
If I have the energy later on, I'll continue optimizing the details of this look; after all, pouring heart and effort into a character is an inherently enjoyable endeavor. Photography is not merely recording—it is an immersive experience of a character's state of living. This photo set was shot a while ago, and pulling it out today for a record marks the official kick-off of my new round of weight loss check-ins for my Cosplay daily life.
