A tremendous amount of preparation went into this Ryuge Kisaki styling. This Blue Archive character has a truly distinctive setting and aura; to capture her unique blend of refined elegance and commanding presence, I put meticulous thought into outfit coordination. The dragon embroidery on the deep blue modernized Qipao is exceptionally detailed, with the mandarin collar and pale blue piping staying faithful to the original design. To amplify the silhouette's depth and authoritative presence, I paired it with a long grey pinstriped suit jacket—draping it over my shoulders or carrying it in hand—which created a bold visual impact as it billowed in the wind when walking.
For the lower half, I selected sheer Black stockings paired with glossy black stiletto heels. This combination visually elongated leg lines, peeking through the high side slit of the Qipao as I moved. For gloves, I chose short gloves in the same deep blue palette as the dress; gripping the red-and-black long rifle prop felt secure, allowing for more natural posing. The black winged halo piece atop my head was custom-crafted to maintain a floating, dimensional presence even under harsh outdoor sunlight.
The shooting location was the parking lot outside the convention venue, where an itasha fully wrapped in anime decals made the ultimate backdrop. The vehicle's expansive blue-and-white color scheme mirrored my costume colors perfectly; standing beside it or leaning against the chassis genuinely felt like breaking the fourth wall. Sunlight was intense that day, and while direct midday light is notoriously harsh, the resulting shots turned out surprisingly crisp and clean, with ground shadows anchoring the realism of the scene. To prevent top-down lighting from casting awkward shadows on my face, we continually repositioned our angles to find the cleanest light.
We explored numerous poses throughout the shoot: from crouching with the rifle ready to over-the-shoulder standing glances, as well as lifting one leg to inject dynamic energy. Crouching was a genuine test of core stability—balancing the heavy prop gun while maintaining composed facial expressions required strict control over my center of gravity. Standing for hours on concrete in stilettos definitely took a toll on my feet, leaving them quite sore, but seeing the results through the viewfinder made every second worthwhile. There were so many fellow Blue Archive fans at the convention, exchanging shooting tips in an amazing atmosphere. Bringing this set together smoothly wouldn't have been possible without the photographer's patient direction—capturing light, shadow, and composition with pinpoint accuracy, especially freezing the moment the coat caught the breeze, perfectly delivering the dashing yet alluring charm I envisioned. Looking forward to exploring even more diverse styles next time.
