Freezing the look of The Shorekeeper's blue and white light veil costume live at the anime convention—every time I wear this outfit, it feels incredibly weightless. The layers of the costume and the streamers can create excellent dynamic effects when moving, so this time I specially experimented with the photographer on several sets of poses with physical extension: single-leg knee raises while holding a butterfly, a kneeling pose looking back, and a relaxed sitting posture on a display rack. The fabric chosen consists of semi-transparent chiffon and pearlescent gauze; the tailoring of the inner lining needed to balance both appearance and freedom of movement, especially the silver-white wrapping bands around the armlets and waist, which required multiple adjustments during fixation to ensure they wouldn't slide off. The lighting on the day of the convention was quite complex, with the ambient light leaning cold, which happened to echo the character's cool-toned highlights. However, to highlight the translucency of the skin tone, we toned down the background's miscellaneous colors in post-processing to make the main character subject look cleaner. The hardest part of this set of movements was maintaining the suspended arc of the streamers; we had to repeatedly toss the fabric to capture the perfect landing point during shooting. Fortunately, a friend traveling with me helped control the wind from the side, making those irregular flowing sensations look natural. The makeup section leaned towards ice-blue blending for the eyes, paired with the light grey-blue wig and white flower hair accessories, aiming as a whole to convey an ethereal yet slightly stubborn temperament. Every time at a convention, I meet many fellow fans who love this design, and everyone will chat a bit about the costume materials and hairstyle details—this kind of authentic interaction makes me happier than the output of the photos itself. When organizing this batch of images, I found that the temperament presented at different angles does have subtle differences; the standing pose set had the skirt hem sweeping the highest due to the shift in center of gravity, fitting the character's agility during combat quite well. As a look leaning towards Xianxia/fantasy, mastering it requires paying attention to body extension, and next time I plan to change the lighting method to try for a softer texture.
