The material of this costume is extremely light-sensitive; particularly with the patchwork of the silver top and high-gloss black fabric, slightly adjusting the angle of the key light during the studio shoot created sleek, reflective lines with a distinct cyberpunk texture across the surface. To perfectly capture the character's essence, a lot of thought went into trimming and styling the wig. The aqua-blue twin-tails not only had to stay silky smooth, but also needed to form natural arcs during dynamic action shots, which required wind assistance paired with specific head-toss movements. For makeup, I opted for a translucent base, focusing on bright blue contact lenses and layered, distinct eye makeup; to complement the 2D visual aesthetic, the blush technique was tailored for a youthful, fresh look.
The black over-the-knee Glossy stockings paired with bright cyan garter bands were one of the visual focal points of this look. Because the material carries a strong latex- and patent-leather sheen, extra attention had to be paid to muscle lines and light-shadow distribution when posing; shifting the angle of leg bends even slightly changed the highlight reflections entirely. Matched with cyan-and-black color-blocked platform shoes, while it elongated overall proportions, it significantly raised my center of gravity, demanding stronger core strength to keep balance when executing wide-ranging poses like deep squats, one-leg back kicks, and wide strides. Throughout the shoot, to highlight the costume's snug fit and fabric tension, the body had to remain constantly engaged, especially with shoulders rolled back and the waist held straight.
In close-up shots, prop details like the headset microphone were also key highlights, meticulously finished with metallic coatings and red indicator lights. Because the costume fabric is non-breathable, studio shooting combined with high-intensity posing made the physical exertion quite substantial. Yet seeing the premium texture of the glossy materials set against the pure white background in the final photos, along with the arcs carved out by the twin-tails mid-air, every bit of effort from the entire team felt rewarded. I hope this photography series, brimming with dynamic motion and futuristic tech elements, lets everyone feel that unique energy piercing through dimensions.
