The photo shoot went ahead as scheduled, and this set of works was intentionally released on Sayu's birthday. Since it happened to be autumn, we specially chose this park with fallen leaves and a withered grass slope as our outdoor photography location. The winding asphalt road by the path, the white paint on the tree trunks, and the scattered pink fallen blossoms enhanced the environment with a rich autumn vibe. I feel this scene matches exceptionally well with the character's casual and lazy personality.
Let's talk about the preparation of the outfit and props this time. I am highly satisfied with the accuracy of this claymore. The purely handcrafted blade features very sharp lines, with a black base layer paired with an orange flame-like texture, combined with a huge cross guard and decorations on the hilt, giving a strong visual impact. Although she is a character who always wants to sleep, running around while carrying this prop weapon definitely brought some heavy weight. Fortunately, the counterweight was balanced well enough that standing poses or leaning against a tree didn't feel too strenuous, and the grip of the hilt during the shoot felt very solid.
The wig and hat are key to embodying the character's temperament. The light golden wig was styled with a fluffy, fuzzy texture, and when paired with the beige soft-brimmed hat adorned with brown bear ears, it looked exceptionally adorable on my head while forming a visual harmony and contrast with the withered grass color in the background. The costume adopts a patchwork design of deep blue, white, and orange; the orange strap details at the neckline and wrists look very exquisite, and the half-finger gloves plus wrist guards add a touch of sleekness for a combat character. Although the metal buckle ornaments on the shoes are tiny, they are also highly detailed, preventing the overall outfit from looking too monotonous.
The lighting on the day of the shoot was extremely comfortable—soft and without harsh contrast—which is perfect for a portrait style centered around a lazy vibe. When guiding my movements, the photographer didn't rigidly force me into complex poses, but rather let me follow the most relaxed state of my body. Leaning against a tree trunk while sitting cross-legged, slightly lowering my head with dropped eyelids, and resting my hands by my legs happened to perfectly match the character's expression and mindset of "sleeping is better than working." This half-closed eye feeling didn't require forcing an expression intentionally; the naturally flowing sleepiness and spontaneity were completely on point.
During post-processing, we focused heavily on preserving the authentic textures of the environment, avoiding over-smoothing the grass and tree trunks, instead maintaining natural sharpness to give the frame sufficient spatial awareness and layering. The overall color saturation was kept within a comfortable range, emphasizing the orange details on the costume while lowering the color contrast of the background, giving the photos a warm film texture. This is actually a state I love when engaging in roleplay—not just putting on clothes, but experiencing and conveying the character's lifestyle attitude. Being able to restore her in my own way on this specific day carried a great sense of ritual. This lazy moment was frozen, showing basically no deviation from the visuals I originally imagined for this cosplay project.
