"The days of youth are also drenched in blood." This is the keynote set for this photo set. Rather than simply replicating the character's combat stance, I wanted to put that sense of transformation—polishing fragility into hardness—into every single frame of the photographs.

To better fit the powerful and rebellious traits in the setting, this time we specifically chose a night location shoot. The glossy patent-leather textured battle suit is the focus of this look. The red and black color-clashing creates an incredible visual tension under the flash, but during the actual shoot, the physical drain from this unbreathable material was very real. We needed to constantly adjust our positioning and lighting angles to bring out the lines and metallic reflections on the fabric, fully releasing that sharp texture.

In terms of props, this giant weapon in the shape of a half-scissors was much heavier than imagined. During the shoot, I not only had to maintain facial expression management but also hold it single-handed, even resting it on my shoulder or swinging it to mimic an attacking motion. After finishing the last few sets of poses holding up the weapon, my arms were trembling slightly. However, it was precisely because of this solid sense of weight that the combat atmosphere of the entire photo set felt more authentic.

I especially love a few of the compositions taken beside the railings and in front of the rough, unplastered walls. The cool-toned night lights and the coarse concrete walls perfectly set off the sharp brilliance on the glossy surface of the clothes. During post-processing, we added some red starlight special effects and geometric lines, hoping to further reinforce that fierce feeling of breaking through boundaries and smashing the status quo.

Re-examining this character in front of the lens, she has never felt to me like someone who is merely ostentatious and cool on the surface; rather, she embodies the kind of vital life force that can still drag a weary body up to strike back even in a seemingly hopeless situation. Although this hair and makeup styling involved a tedious dress-up process, I believe that the emotion of putting in my absolute utmost effort was successfully conveyed. This shooting experience also gave me more practical hands-on experience with glossy materials and night lighting. It was a highly satisfying attempt, and I hope everyone will love this anime-style photo set.
