[Kochiya Sanae Cosplay] Sunlight Breaking Through Clouds by the Water

This shoot for Kochiya Sanae Cosplay was set by an open body of water. On a cloudy day, the light shifted rapidly; to catch the fleeting moments of sunlight breaking through the clouds, we squatted on the coastal rocks for quite a while. The white top with blue lace details wrinkled easily, requiring repeated ironing before shooting. The deep blue skirt is embroidered with star motifs; standing at the water's edge, the lower hem inevitably became soaked and heavy to walk in, yet it unexpectedly suited the waterside setting.

The Green wig features natural slight curls, which easily clump without daily maintenance, so I spent considerable time combing and styling it before the shoot. When the sea breeze blew across, the way the wig fluttered turned out remarkably organic—a delightful surprise. The five-pointed star prop was custom-made; although not large, holding it up for extended periods still made my arm ache. During the shoot, I tested several grip angles before finding this pose that offered the most stable center of gravity while best showcasing the character's serene composure.

Regarding my interpretation of this character, the 'Wind Priestess' setting naturally carries an organic and ecological aura. Therefore, we chose waterside rocks as the location without excessive forced posing, mostly just steadying my breath and gently tilting my head in the direction of the wind. In post-processing, the surrounding environment was deliberately darkened to create a visual warm-and-cool contrast between the piercing light and the deep blue skirt, leaving the frame with a tranquil mood. The reef was extremely slippery, requiring caution with every step; standing still for so long also made my legs go numb, so we had to support each other whenever repositioning.

Compared to other character makeups, Sanae's makeup is relatively lighter, looking very translucent under natural light. This Waterside photography shoot was immensely rewarding. Outdoor cosplay often involves dealing with uncontrollable weather factors, but it is precisely these unexpected moments and patient waits that endowed the final photos with a rare, refined texture.
