At the recently concluded 2024 PSD COSPLAY Annual Ceremony, I successfully received my own honor and officially became part of the 2024 Cosplay Yearbook. Holding that purple trophy in my hands, all those late nights spent working hard for photoshoots felt like they finally received a tangible response.
This event was held during the Firefly ACG Expo, and the on-site atmosphere was truly amazing. Photo 1 shows me in front of the convention signature wall. That day, I specially styled this white fuzzy cropped jacket with a geometric-patterned high-slit long skirt. I personally really loved the color contrast between the pink wig and this outfit. Signing my name on the signature wall brought back a wave of emotion, as every convention feels like a reunion with old friends where I get to see so many familiar faces and fellow fans in Cosplayer daily life.
To be honest, winning the COSPLAYER of the Year trophy at the PSD Annual Ceremony is immensely encouraging. The moment I accepted the trophy, its heavy feel made me genuinely experience the power of this recognition. Photos 3 and 4 show inner pages of the physical 2024 Cosplay Yearbook; seeing my work printed on exquisite paper alongside so many outstanding cosplayers in this artbook brings a feeling of achievement beyond words. Whether it's my performance in front of the camera or the capture through the photographer's lens, everything is the result of our entire team's joint effort.
Many friends might think cosplayers just need to dress nicely and stand there for photos, but in reality, it's far from that simple. From makeup, styling, wig trimming, to finding suitable venues and repeatedly fine-tuning lighting angles with photographers, every single step requires immense patience. Especially this time, to complement the overall outfit, I spent a lot of effort on accessories and props. For instance, that geometric-patterned skirt actually heavily tested the fabric's reflectivity under stage lights, but luckily our final presented result turned out phenomenal.
Looking back on this journey, I've received encouragement and companionship from so many friends and fans, which has always been my driving force to keep going. Initial arrangements for this year's plan are already set, and moving forward, I will continue focusing on improving my makeup, styling, and expressive power. Whether shooting in more complex scenes or trying more challenging styles, I hope to better bring out the best side of characters while striving to explore more diverse visual expressions.
I think the gains from this PSD Annual Ceremony and Firefly ACG Expo won't be my finish line, but rather feel like a brand-new starting point. Carrying this heavy trophy and the freshly printed 2024 Cosplay Yearbook, I will take it step by step, continuing to explore and grow in this field. I'm ready.
