This Minato Yukina styling focused on restoring her iconic silver-purple long hair and slightly cold makeup. The wig was chosen from a model with good hair gloss, featuring trimmed straight bangs, and slight adjustments to the sideburns on both sides to make the face shape look more compact. It was paired with black-and-white cat hair clips, small black cross accessories, and a bobby pin with a small silver bow to enrich the head details. The contact lenses were chosen in a light gray-brown with a moderate diameter. The eye makeup emphasized deepening the lower eyelid and aegyo-sal, and used light pearlescent to highlight the inner corners of the eyes, bringing the gaze closer to Yukina's resolute yet somewhat aloof feeling. The eyelashes were also applied in layers to make close-up shots stand out.
In terms of clothing, this light pink top has black lace trim on the neckline and gathers on the cuffs, paired with an oversized black bow on the chest and pearl heart decorations, creating quite a contrasting vibe. The lower body is paired with a black high-waisted pleated skirt featuring a double-belt buckle design at the waist and lace splicing along the hem. To make the visual effect richer, the legs were designed asymmetrically: one side features black fishnet stockings, and the other features laced white socks, stepping on those chunky platform multi-buckle leather shoes, bringing out the overall sweet-and-cool vibe. The metal rings and glossy leather on the upper shoes have a great texture under different lighting, and the platform soles effectively elongate the leg proportions.
The shoot took place in a pure white room with a clean background, featuring white floor-to-ceiling curtains and an iron bed frame. Track spotlights on the ceiling provided great lighting. I took a few full-body selfies using an arched floor-to-ceiling mirror, as well as facial close-ups. Both standing and sitting poses were tried, with the sitting pose better showcasing the leg lines and the overall skirt silhouette. Roselia's songs are always full of power, and while cosplaying this character, I tried my best to maintain that focused state. Whether standing in front of the mirror or sitting by the bed, I wanted to capture the layers of the skirt and the heaviness of the small leather shoes. To fit the word 'kakugo' (determination), the gaze was also intentionally treated to be cooler, hoping to convey that uncompromising determination for the goal.
I put a lot of thought into adjusting the overall styling. Since Yukina's setting is relatively mature and carries a strong stage presence, I tried to preserve that sharp neatness in the casual wear presentation as well. The large black bow is the visual center of the whole outfit, so when adjusting its position, I intentionally made it fluffy and three-dimensional, avoiding it from sticking flat and limply against the chest. The skirt is a high-waisted A-line cut with clear pleated creases; the skirt hem curves beautifully when walking, and fans out naturally when sitting without looking cramped. The asymmetrical sock pairing is a highlight of this styling, where fishnet stockings add a bit of mature and rebellious flair, while white socks neutralize this sharpness. Combined with the elaborate chunky platform shoes, the visual center of gravity of the entire outfit is very stable.
In terms of makeup details, besides the eye makeup, the base makeup pursued a matte flawless texture, with very light contouring mainly emphasizing facial folding degree. Natural light pink lip glaze was applied to the lips, with the edges blended for a softer look. The placement of the hair accessories was also adjusted several times to enrich the frame without looking cluttered. In terms of camera performance, since it was a mirror selfie, the phone slightly blocked part of the face, so more focus was placed on body posture and the overall atmospheric vibe. When standing, engage the core to make the shoulder and neck lines look better; when sitting, cross the legs to extend the visual length of the legs.
Actually, cosplaying such a familiar and popular character brings quite a bit of pressure, as I always hope to capture the essence of the character. From combing the wig fibers and fixing hair accessories, to ironing clothing wrinkles, to lighting and angles during shooting, every step required repeated confirmation. Although it's just simple indoor mirror selfies, I wanted to showcase Minato Yukina's unique aloofness and beauty through this set of photos. This shoot used a pure white background, utilizing natural light filtering through the window plus overhead spotlights. The overall frame is very bright, and post-processing only slightly adjusted brightness and clarity, trying to preserve the original texture of skin and clothing. The arched frame of the mirror also added a bit of design sense to the frame, avoiding monotony from a full screen of white walls. Organizing these photos is also a way to record the results of this effort. Every preparation process, from gathering references to final presentation, is tedious yet immensely fulfilling.
