Today, I can finally take out this set of Nonoka Miyanaga cosplay and share it with everyone properly. Actually, when preparing this costume, the most headache-inducing part for me was this pink-and-white plaid strapless top. To restore that slightly crisp yet undeniably cute silhouette, I compared several types of fabrics. In the end, I chose a slightly thicker plaid cloth and added invisible support on the inside so that the fit could stand up properly when worn. Moreover, the golden piping on the edges was hand-sewn inch by inch, and the metallic texture looks exceptionally good under lighting. The small yellow and blue buttons on the clothes were also completely restored according to the original design details, and that small 'X' stitch pattern was hand-drawn and embroidered by myself. Although it was hard on the eyes, details dictate success or failure, right?
The white semi-transparent ruffles on the shoulders are also a key focus. This kind of fabric is very prone to fraying, so before sewing, I slightly scorched the edges with a lighter and then bound them with pink satin ribbon. When worn on the body, whether walking or posing, the ruffles have that lightweight, breathing fluidity. I searched for a long time to find a silver adjustable buckle for the shoulder straps that closely matches the original style, which makes it easy to adjust the length and visually flatters the lines of the collarbone and shoulders.
Regarding the wig, Nonoka Miyanaga's silver-purple long hair features a touch of light blue highlighting. I deliberately chose a style with smoother hair strands, and used a flat iron to curl the bangs and sideburns inward to better fit the face shape and make the gaze look softer.
In terms of makeup, to fit the setting of Mujigen MewType which carries a youthful energetic vibe, I heavily intensified the layering of the eye makeup. I wore purplish-gray colored contacts to echo the hair color, drew a slightly droopy puppy-eye eyeliner shape, and used pink eyeshadow to blend the outer corners of the eyes and the under-eye area, making the eyes look round and innocent. The base makeup was applied fairly thin and translucent, focusing on using highlighter to brighten the tip of the nose, bridge of the nose, and mid-face to enhance facial dimensionality. The lip color chose a plump jelly lip gloss in a tender pink shade, maintaining consistency with the overall clothing tone.
During the shoot, because the color scheme of this outfit itself is extremely eye-catching, the background was chosen as a clean, solid-colored wall without too many props to steal the spotlight. In terms of lighting, a frontal ring light was used to ensure no shadows on the face and capture a more translucent skin texture. The pose with both hands placed on either side of the cheeks was to match the cute attribute of this outfit, while also wanting to showcase the details of the white and pink asymmetrical gloves. The large bow hair accessory is actually a bit heavy, and the position of the clip needed to be carefully adjusted to firmly fix it on top of the head. Although the preparation process for this styling was extremely tedious, seeing the final effect presented in the photos made all the effort completely worth it.
