[Suiseiseki Cosplay] Rozen Maiden Souseiseki & Suiseiseki Duo Shoot: Sisters Snuggle in the Cold Wind

Sorting through this official photo set, memories of that shoot day remain vividly clear. The temperature was extremely low back then, with cold winds making us shiver, but facing the lens, the moment the photographer called \"Action!\", all focus instantly shifted back into character.

This time I cosplayed Suiseiseki, and while preparing the costume, I was completely captivated by this dark green velvet long dress. Velvet fabric shifts texture under varying light conditions, reflecting a gorgeous sheen when lighting is optimal. Paired with white lace trim along the collar and cuffs, as well as a white lace bonnet, it delivers maximum Vintage Lolita charm. To achieve the best presentation, makeup artist @Huantoumao was exceptionally attentive: the base makeup was clear and radiant, while the eye makeup was crisp and neat, striking a balance between playful youthfulness and classical elegance. The wig was also expertly trimmed and styled so its shade and strand direction matched the character seamlessly.

Another challenging aspect of this setup lay in the props. Suiseiseki's golden watering can is rich in detail, featuring golden floral adornments on the handle and spout, carrying substantial weight in hand. Souseiseki's massive golden scissors posed an even greater hurdle—not only heavy but quite long. Naturally holding it without blocking characters in a Duo cosplay composition truly tested the photographer's framing and timing skills. While posing, the two of us often held our breath to steady our arms, terrified the props might tilt or drop; after wrapping up, our arms were genuinely too sore to lift.

Partnering with me was @Seiya, who handled Souseiseki Cosplay. Though petite in stature, once she slipped into the royal blue uniform with a broad white lapel, put on the black top hat, and held that massive golden pair of scissors, her entire aura instantly radiated a handsome, sharp energy. Our interactions before the camera felt remarkably natural. True to lore, Suiseiseki and Souseiseki share a profound sisterly bond, so we designed numerous poses involving holding hands, nestling close, and glancing back at each other. Particularly in the final close-up, backlighting shimmered through our hair; as she stood there with me supporting her arm, that serene feeling of timeless peace emerged effortlessly.

The European-style corridor architecture at the shoot location added immense value. Arched doorways created a natural framing effect, accommodating both of us alongside the elaborate props comfortably. Photographer @ACIci was brilliant with light management, excelling at using architectural depth and slanting sunlight to weave ambient atmosphere. Because the wind was strong, blowing our bonnets and hair strands out of place, we frequently had to wait after posing for a lull in the breeze—or simply harness the wind's dynamics to capture natural shots of fluttering hair. This genuine environmental presence feels so much more lively than staged indoor studio poses.

Looking back at the entire process, though our hands and feet were numb from the cold, excitement ran high every time we switched scenes or tried a new composition. Seeing the raw camera shots—where light, texture, and character states met our exact expectations—all the hardship dissolved into nothing. Shooting outdoors in winter undeniably demands courage, but the warmth and sisterly bond conveyed in this Souseiseki & Suiseiseki photo set made every bit of freezing cold worthwhile. As I finished organizing these photos, I reflected on how this joy—collaborating with a close friend on a duo shoot toward a shared creative goal—is truly a unique fulfillment that cosplay brings.
