Shooting this Yixuan cosplay costume at the convention was truly a unique experience. I arranged this Duo cosplay project with my partner ahead of time, getting all props and gear ready before peak convention crowds arrived. The area we picked was an industrial-style scene at the edge of the venue, featuring black metal framing and overhead truss structures that align seamlessly with the futuristic, cool urban tone of Zenless Zone Zero.

Regarding costume choice, to capture the character's demeanor, the jacket was specifically selected in a glossy leather fabric that produced fantastic reflective highlights under strong overhead venue lights, enhancing visual depth. The inner shirt collar featured white layering, meticulously accented by a blue printed crest on the front placket that perfectly balanced the heaviness of black leather. For the lower body, we paired it with sheer black pantyhose as part of this Stockings cosplay; since the original character design is barefoot, we weighed venue cleanliness and comfort during prolonged standing shoots, ultimately deciding to present the look barefoot. The sheen of the stockings added major points before the lens, especially where legs crossed, highlighting leg muscle contours and the overall outfit's visual effect.

For pose design, to break the stiffness of a static seated posture, we designed an overlapping, same-direction leg arrangement: one person's instep extended straight to touch the floor, while the other's leg hooked slightly backward. Through varied extension angles from knees to calves down to ankles, this formed a multi-angled geometric cross structure. This pose demanded immense chemistry between us, ensuring limbs were positioned just right while balancing visual highlights around chest and legs, allowing the camera to capture the unique blend of sensuality and coolness inherent to this uniform.

It must be said that convention environments are naturally noisy and crowded with passersby, booth lights, and photography setups intertwining. Aside from our own photography gear, a large softbox positioned on the left side played a crucial role in this shoot. The specular reflections off black leather and the delicate, translucent skin texture of the stockings relied heavily on on-site convention lighting. We adjusted our seated center of gravity back and forth several times before finding the optimal camera angle that maintained natural posture while showcasing every detail of the costume.

Within the high-ceilinged industrial architecture of the exhibition hall, this dark-toned ambiance made the character's white hair pop even more vividly. My partner's hairstyle was solidly crafted with great sheen across hair strands; combined with the top knot and signature hair ornaments on the bangs, visual focus remained sharply concentrated whether framed in wide-angle or mid-focal length. As a cosplayer, finding such a stylized real-world scene at a convention that merges naturally with the character's disposition feels incredible. Staying focused on character immersion rather than forced posing delivers superior relaxation and tension before the camera, yielding great Convention photos.
