Collaborating with my partner Dazhi for this Duo cosplay took considerable preparation, from initial makeup trials all the way to on-location shooting. I took on the Hat God cosplay, while Dazhi portrayed Rapi. Although their costume styles differ, the shared palette of red, black, and white unified them seamlessly. To deliver the best visual impact, we invested immense care into props and garment textures. For my ensemble—a white base layer layered with black harness straps—keeping the fabric smooth and taut was essential to avoid appearing bulky before the camera. The red tie and star-embossed jacket served as visual anchors, demanding a structured, crisp drape even while moving. Dazhi's Rapi leather jacket was high-gloss and beautifully textured, but prone to harsh glare under the factory's intense lighting, prompting us to dab matte translucent powder onto hot spots between takes.

Regarding props, the two replica firearms carried substantial heft. The heavy machine gun I held required a rock-steady grip, keeping my arm muscles under continuous strain throughout the shoot. Dazhi had it slightly easier shouldering the sniper rifle, though balancing her center of gravity remained just as crucial. The factory was vast, its concrete floor cracked and rugged, flanked by cold masonry and rusted steel girders—an ideal setting for our apocalyptic, sci-fi military aesthetics.

Sunlight was fierce on the day of the shoot. We harnessed natural light streaming through the windows while filling facial shadows with artificial strobes. In backlit set-ups, sunlight sliced through Dazhi's crimson tresses and scarf, sculpting a stunning rim light that injected instant dimensional depth into the frame. While posing, I balanced conveying the realistic heft of the heavy weapon with managing the motion of my hair; long curls easily tangled in the draft, requiring angle adjustments aligned with the breeze. Dazhi's execution was razor-sharp: when dropping into a crouched firing stance, the glossy black leather reflected an icy sheen under high-contrast lighting, which, paired with her detached, steely gaze, brought the combat aura roaring to life.

One memorable frame captured our characters poised back-to-back: I half-crouched in the foreground while Dazhi stood watchful behind. This framing demanded exacting compositional precision; the photographer ran us through multiple blocking adjustments to strike a balance between showcasing full-body details and maintaining visual tension between us. The low-angle upward perspective elongated our silhouettes dramatically, particularly accentuating leg contours and the visual sweep of Black over-the-knee stockings. To suit this angle, we engaged our leg muscles firmly, projecting raw combat power rather than passive softness.

Overall, our exploration of Industrial style photography and lighting was a resounding success. The rough grit of the industrial backdrop juxtaposed sharply with the polished intricacy of our garments. For makeup, we deepened the eye contours to complement crimson contacts and hair tones, ensuring our expressions looked sharp under bright lighting. Dazhi's leather jacket posed extreme lighting demands—too bright and highlights blew out; too dim and tactile textures vanished—requiring repeated lighting tweaks to place specular highlights precisely where they belonged while safeguarding shadow gradations. This photoshoot set stands as a deeply satisfying culmination of all our meticulous preparation.
