This time, I am bringing the results of a Herta cosplay photoshoot from Honkai: Star Rail. For the character of Herta, her elegant confidence and slightly tsundere temperament are highly attractive in the game. This shoot is not only to restore her classic look but also to showcase her agility and cuteness in this set of works.

For the shooting scene, we specially selected a photography studio with a strong atmospheric feel. The red velvet curtains paired with the black-and-white checkered floor create a texture akin to a stage play or a fantasy opera house. Vintage gold-rimmed clocks, gorgeous picture frames, and candlesticks are placed in the corners. Combined with the meticulously added purple-pink light beams and those glowing butterfly special effects of various shapes flying around, the entire frame presents a highly dreamy and magical visual effect after post-processing, which perfectly fits her explorer temperament as a member of the Genius Society.

Costume details were the part we polished with the utmost care. This massive deep blue pointed wide-brimmed witch hat required many angle adjustments during wearing to maintain its perfect curve. The outfit adopts an off-the-shoulder deep blue and white patchwork design, and the large ruffled wide sleeves look exceptionally powerful when worn, while also being very comfortable. The matching long skirt on the lower body is printed with white curling totem patterns, which lift with the wind when walking, and the skirt hem has a wonderful drape.

In terms of props, this long staff is the key to the shoot. The mechanical wing design at the top of the staff and its blue-white-gold color scheme not only feel substantial in hand but also beautifully shape the character's haughty demeanor. To match the entire costume, I also paired it with black pointed-toe chunky-heel lace-up high boots and thigh-high stockings, and the strap decoration on the thighs just added to the layering of the overall outfit. As for the wig, I chose a long straight gradient style from silver-gray to light purple with a lot of volume, which not only frames the face well but also looks exceptionally stunning when blown by a fan during the shoot, capturing a flowing and agile feel.

For this shoot, we also made various attempts at posing. The first image opts for a stance standing on one leg while holding the staff, which displays the staff and the outfit's full details comprehensively, with a confident gaze looking toward the camera; the second image shows me sitting on a red vintage leather chair, lightly placing one hand under my chin and looking back with a smile—this pose is more relaxed and embodies her unique playfulness; the third image features holding the brim of the hat with one hand while opening the other hand outward, delivering a highly dynamic sense of casting magic amidst the flying hair and intersecting light and shadow.

The makeup for this look is quite clean and eye-catching without using overly exaggerated colors, focusing the emphasis on the eye makeup to highlight the character's cool and exquisite nature. In terms of lighting arrangement, the photographer used an alternating technique of cool and warm lights, making the transition between highlights and shadows more natural across the photos, while enhancing the texture of the white sleeves and blue skirt. Participating in the creator incentive program of Honkai: Star Rail is in itself a way to interpret character charm through images. Transforming a two-dimensional character from a role-playing game into a real-world visual presentation through clothing, props, scenes, and photography—the process in between and the final finished product bring me a massive sense of accomplishment.
