"Eat my skill 2." Today's Honor of Kings Daji cosplay really maxes out the enchanting feel of skill 2. When talking about Daji in the Canyon, people might immediately think of that oppressive feeling of camping in a bush and one-shotting someone with a full combo, but to cosplay this character well, I wanted more to recreate her setting of seeming innocent and harmless, yet actually carrying a hint of danger.

For this red outfit, the bright gold piping around the shoulders and neck has a striking texture; to make it fit the body shape better, I spent a lot of time adjusting it before the shoot. To accurately recreate this classic styling, I specially trimmed layered sideburns on the wig, and adjusted the bangs to a length that just covers the eyebrows slightly, making the gaze appear deeper. That pair of white fluffy beast ears on top of the head, though feeling a bit heavy after wearing them for a long time, their fuzzy texture is truly a huge bonus in front of the lens.

In terms of makeup, I chose amber-toned contact lenses, paired with a slightly upturned eyeliner, hoping to present that slyness unique to a little fox. In the settings of Honor of Kings, Daji has exceptionally good body proportions, so to pull off the effect of this outfit, I did a lot of homework on the inner-wear details and the fit of the clothes. The inner wear with black lace trim just neutralizes the strong visual impact of the red-and-gold color matching.

When shooting these selfies, I kept pondering how to convey the feeling of "eat my enchanting skill" through body language. Therefore, the hand gestures were designed to be relatively gentle, either resting loosely in front of the chest or gently pinching the edge of the hem, while keeping the gaze fixed straight at the lens, trying to create an attraction that carries a tiny bit of oppression. Actually, the core experience of cosplaying is to get closer to another character's state through costume styling and exquisite makeup. Today's set of Daji photos feels quite faithful to the original character in terms of costume texture, makeup restoration, and the presentation of the overall atmosphere.

In fact, preparing for a complete cosplay shoot involves pre-production work that is often far more tedious than the moment of pressing the shutter. From ironing clothes and checking various accessories to repeatedly testing makeup colors, every step requires patience. Take Daji's makeup this time, for instance: I modified the smudging range of the eye makeup in front of the mirror several times to achieve an effect that has presence without looking too rigid. Early maintenance of the wig was also demanding; stray hairs needed to be tidied up with hairspray, and it had to be ensured that the hairstyle wouldn't easily deform during the shoot.

The golden piping material on the clothing has a very obvious reflection effect under indoor lighting, which means if the shooting angle is slightly off, it's very easy to reflect strange bright spots in the frame. Therefore, while finding angles for my selfies, I kept avoiding direct light sources, trying to use side lighting to outline facial contours while highlighting the three-dimensional tailoring of the clothes. This selfie session didn't use a particularly complex background; I just wanted to showcase this eye-catching red-and-gold outfit and Daji's unique playfulness to the lens through the most direct sense of distance.

Usually when playing Daji in the game, what I love most is the refreshing feeling brought by her full combo. Being able to personally wear this outfit this time is not only a tribute to the game character, but also a small test of my own photo-producing ability. To recreate the full and three-dimensional texture of the original skin, whether it's the metal hanging ornament at the collar or the spiral patterns on the cuffs, I tried my best to retain the original details. Judging from the final photos, the overall presented effect indeed meets my expectations; the intertwining of red and gold appears very distinct in the frame, coupled with a slightly cool gaze, which properly conveys the character's traits.
