[Gongsun Li Cosplay] Honor of Kings: Flawless Portrayal of Clouds Vow to a Thousand Mountains by the Bamboo Grove Stream

Capturing photos for this Clouds Vow to a Thousand Mountains look was indeed quite challenging. Let's start with the trickiest part: the costume and makeup. The entire outfit is made of gradient sheer fabric interwoven with white and blue, featuring significant skin exposure, particularly at the waist and legs. The fabric itself carries fine sequins, reflecting a gorgeous shimmer under sunlight. However, because the sheer fabric is semi-translucent and clings immediately when touching stream water, every movement during the shoot had to be executed with extreme caution to avoid dirtying the fabric or tearing the flowing ribbons. For hair and makeup, the wig featured braided styling combined with a long ponytail, requiring secure attachment of the white faux fur, crescent moon headpiece, and the red forehead mark. To achieve the ideal look, the makeup artist spent nearly two hours fine-tuning the angles.

The large blue-and-white semi-translucent water-ripple umbrella in hand was the centerpiece. While it looks celestial and airy, its frame is actually quite heavy; holding it while posing through various dynamic moves tested arm strength, leaving my wrists aching. To capture the effect of the umbrella's reflection in the water, we tested over a dozen takes along the stream. The location chosen for this shoot was a Bamboo grove photoshoot set beside a mountain stream. In the morning, a light mist lingered in the forest, which, complemented by artificial smoke effects, created a dreamlike atmosphere. To capture the skirt and ribbons fluttering naturally in the wind, the photographer had me run back and forth and spin around while precisely controlling facial expressions—because a single blink or tired gasp would ruin the entire take.

The shooting process was genuinely tiring, as sitting on rocks or half-crouching in the stream for extended periods left my legs numb several times. The shoes were character-matched high-heeled sandals, making standing on wet, slippery rocks exceptionally challenging. However, reviewing the photos in the camera made every bit of effort feel worthwhile. This Cosplay photography set delivered an ethereal aesthetic overall; from lively eye expressions to the split-second fluttering of the dress, I did my best to recreate the character's aura while infusing my own personal touch.

Regarding this skin, my strongest impression was that lower-body silhouette lines are crucial, so during the shoot, I paid special attention to engaging my core and leg muscles to make every movement look graceful. Many thanks to the photographer for camera work and snapshot timing, as well as the assistants for adjusting lighting and props; great chemistry among everyone made this stunning set possible.
