This time cosplaying Gongsun Li's Summer of Tangerines styling, I put a lot of thought into the wig and makeup. The styling of the wig is the key point: the double hair buns plus the braided pigtails on both sides. To keep the shape three-dimensional, I padded the inner layer with hair puffs, secured the ends of the braids with fine rubber bands, and pulled out a few hair strands to increase the airy feel. Pink wigs are very prone to looking frizzy, so before the shoot, I sprayed it once with wig care solution and straightened the hair strands with a flat iron so that it would look glossy in front of the lens. The bangs were given a slight curve with a curling iron to better flatter the face shape, and paired with the fluffy animal ear hair accessories, the overall sweetness soared. The placement position of the hair accessories was also adjusted several times to ensure they had presence in front of the lens without stealing the spotlight too much.
In the eye makeup section, the purple contact lenses are the finishing touch. When choosing contact lenses, I specifically picked a style with good color rendering and a transitional design at the edges so that it looks natural. To make the eyes look larger and more expressive, I used a light color as a base, layering dark eyeshadow to blend at the outer corners of the eyes. False eyelashes were chosen in a slender style, with the focus being the treatment of the lower eyelashes; using an ultra-fine liquid eyeliner pen to draw a few distinct lower eyelashes can effectively enlarge the eyes. The eyeliner droops slightly, creating an innocent and playful feel. The eyebrows were drawn into gentle arched brows with a lighter color to echo the pink hair. Blush was applied under the eyes to enhance the complexion.
The clothing is paired with a blue camisole, which looks extremely refreshing against the white background. To fit the summer theme, I chose a matte-texture foundation for the base makeup, but retained a trace of highlighter on the tip of the nose and cheekbones to give the face more dimension while avoiding looking greasy under strong light. During the shoot, I tried winking and making peace sign gestures; these actions are very effective for displaying the character's energetic vibe. The hand poses were kept as relaxed as possible, maintaining a natural curve, but the fingers needed a sense of strength rather than being limp.
Regarding photography, to highlight the character's facial and upper body details, choosing a clean white background minimizes visual interference to the greatest extent. In terms of lighting, a softbox was used to illuminate the face, making the skin look more translucent. During post-processing, the main adjustments were made to the overall exposure and color balance of the image, making the pink and blue more vivid and bright, without excessive liquefying or skin smoothing, preserving the true skin texture and makeup texture. When posing, pay attention to opening the shoulders, which not only showcases the collarbone lines but also makes the neck look longer. Turning the body slightly sideways towards the lens can make the posture look lighter. Ensuring that the overall effect matches the 2D character settings while possessing a true portrait aesthetic. This styling, which leans towards daily wear yet carries distinct 2D characteristics, is easier to photograph well and better restores the character's inherent liveliness.
