[Daji cosplay] Honor of Kings Matcha Sweetheart Skin Teaser, Handing Over a Cup of Refreshing Afternoon Tea First

This time, I shot Daji's "Matcha Sweetheart" look from Honor of Kings. Currently, the official photos still need about a month for fine retouching and layout, so I'm releasing the cosplay teaser clips first for everyone to check out.

Today's makeup and styling were done in collaboration with Yuchen-sensei. Huge thanks to Yuchen-sensei for pouring so much heart into the makeup details. For the eye makeup, to match the "matcha" theme, a yellow-green transitioning color palette was specially mixed, and the colored contacts were also chosen in a very translucent green system, making the entire eye area look exceptionally bright and spirited. I initially thought the yellow-green color-blocked wig would look abrupt, but Yuchen-sensei handled it with highlights and layered cutting. Paired with the white lace headband at the crown and tied with two green ribbon bowknots, it looks highly harmonious and natural. The fluffy animal ears also underwent a flocking treatment, giving them a very three-dimensional feel in both close-up and wide shots.

The fabric of the costume this time utilized a silk satin material with a subtle luster. The light green main color scheme paired with large areas of white ruffles presents a very soft texture under the relatively warm-toned lighting. A small lace trim was designed at the neckline on the chest, with a three-dimensional red flower decoration dotted right in the center. This pop of red serves as an excellent visual highlight amidst the green and white main tone, keeping the overall look from appearing too plain. The sleeves feature a layered design, paired with white jagged-edge sleeve cuffs, plus the small yellow bowknots on the apron—the elements overall are highly rich but don't look cluttered, presenting beautiful maid costume photography details.

The shooting venue was set at Chenxing Photography Studio, and the arrangement inside the studio perfectly matched the sweet atmosphere of this outfit. A large area of white drapery hangs down from the top, creating a spatial sense akin to a dreamy tent or tea party scene. Several yellow five-pointed star props hang in the background, and next to the platform stand a vintage wooden carved side chair and a golden European-style mirror frame, along with candelabras and those exquisite glass goblets. These pieces of furniture and decorations immensely enrich the visual layers of the frame, making the photos look like a story-rich setting rather than a boring plain background.

Cooperating with the ready-made props in the venue, we experimented with different interaction movements. One set features holding that English teacup with rose-shaped milk foam; shooting from a slightly high angle to look down makes the face look incredibly small, and this interactive perspective is highly eye-catching. There are also actions like holding a cake and reaching out toward the camera—this inviting gesture effectively shortens the distance between the audience and the photos. The teaser places more focus on capturing a naturally relaxed state, so playful gestures like making V-signs with both hands and propping the chin with fingers were also added a bit, expressing the character Daji's unique liveliness and agility.

The next month will mainly be the fine retouching stage. The layers of this "Matcha Sweetheart" wig easily get messed up when turning around, so maintaining styling completeness during the shoot also consumed a lot of time. However, after the few teaser photos came out, I am personally highly satisfied with the overall light-shadow atmosphere and color grading. It can both reflect the fresh matcha flavor of summer and carry the cute temperament of an exquisite maid.
