This photoshoot features Dolia - Phantom Pearl Mermaid from Honor of Kings. The main theme of the costume is lightness. The entire outfit is made with a large amount of semi-transparent tulle fabric, giving the gradient blue-purple skirt hem and wide sleeves a strong sense of breathability under the sunlight. To replicate the character's visual traits, the deep purple bow at the waist was specially oversized and made with a glossy satin material, creating a layered contrast with the matte tulle. The floral decorations and white trims were also adjusted multiple times to ensure they don't look cumbersome when worn on the chest.

The wig chosen features a white-and-purple gradient. To prevent the hair ends from looking stiff and rigid, a flat iron was used before the shoot to style the hair texture, giving the ends a naturally flowing, wispy look. The purple flower decoration on top of the head was color-matched with the shades of the wig, and its center of gravity had to be carefully considered during fastening; otherwise, it could easily tilt in the strong outdoor wind.

The most eye-catching accessory this time has to be the giant plush prop. It features a white-and-purple color-blocking design with a purple cross embroidery in the middle. The prop is fully stuffed with a rounded shape. Carrying it at the waist not only accents the plain-colored outfit but also perfectly hides the extra stitching seams at the waist, instantly elevating the completeness of the overall look.

The location chosen for this shoot was under the cherry blossom trees by some rockeries. The weekend weather was amazing; the abundant natural light made the color saturation of the images very comfortable, and the overall color tone perfectly matched the character. The photographer specifically captured moments when the wind blew, as this lightweight material truly shows its essence in motion. As the gentle breeze passed, the wide sleeves and skirt hem fluttered in the wind, with the semi-transparent texture on the sleeves blending with the light and shadow, creating a visual effect even more ethereal than expected.

In terms of prop details, stitching the golden belt with the skirt fabric was one of the key focuses of this creation. If the transition isn't handled well, the overall texture would suffer. We added extra fastening straps on the inside to ensure that the belt and bow stay neatly in place even during large swaying movements. During standing shots, it was also necessary to constantly adjust the position of the bow to prevent it from flipping over.

Compared to pure studio shoots, the character's atmosphere is brought out much more naturally in an outdoor cosplay environment with flowers and trees. In fact, cosplay is not just about recreating the costume, but also about integrating light and the environment. Relying on the wind, sunlight, and the rough texture of the rocks actually enhances the ethereal feeling of this outfit much better.
