Let's talk about some real feelings of choosing to wear this blue-themed outfit on the third day of the BW 2026 exhibition. Although this styling looks crisp, clear in color, and lightweight in structure from the photos, maintaining this high level of character accuracy in reality actually requires a great deal of effort. Because the character setting and skin elements in the work are very distinct, with the light blue hair color, white rabbit ears, and dark flower decorations on the skirt hem serving as visual anchors, it commands high recognition when walking around the exhibition venue.
First, about the head and hairstyle. To achieve a natural volume, the light blue wig was meticulously combed and styled before heading out, preventing any awkward situations of it looking dry or sticking flatly to the sides of my face. The rabbit ears on top of my head are a combination of foaming sponge and plush fur; since they aren't small in volume, they were secured very stably using steel hairpins. Although wearing them for a whole day did make my scalp feel slightly tight, to keep both ears standing tall, this hardship was well within acceptable limits.
In terms of costume fabric selection, the white-and-blue gradient part of the upper body uses pearlescent fabric, which creates delicate highlight layers under the venue's ceiling lights. The gold ornamental pieces on the chest were custom-made, which not only balances the heaviness of the dark blue roses on the lower body but also allows the overall center of gravity of the styling to be distributed reasonably. As for that giant blue flower prop, it is supported by an internal bracket; during photography, the angle needs to be precisely controlled to utilize the prop to block out a portion of the chaotic crowd behind, thereby making the final image look clean and sharp.
The action in this photo (Figure 3) attempts to recreate a gesture akin to an invitation, with the arm extending forward to form a diagonal composition with the face, simultaneously showcasing the exquisite facial features and highlighting the details of the long arm sleeves and the green stem of the prop. Many friends browsing the convention would express curiosity about this giant blue flower when passing by, and some would even ask about its material and weight. In fact, holding the prop for a long time did make my arms quite sore.
Regarding the lower body combination, the asymmetrical design has always been one of the most interesting highlights of the Dance Among Flowers skin to me. The thigh-high sock on a single leg forms a visual contrast with the other bare leg, and plus the length of the skirt hem just covering the base of the thighs, it instead elongates the leg lines. Adding small blue bows to the straps of the transparent platform shoes creates an even lighter rhythmic motion when walking. However, the venue's floor tiles were extremely hard; wearing these transparent sandals and walking for an entire day puts massive pressure on the heels. I had to borrow a portable folding stool from a friend in the afternoon for a short break to alleviate the strain on my feet.
The convention venue had a relatively high temperature, and the air conditioning inside the halls was insufficient to counteract the stuffiness, so this costume minimized excessive, tedious coverings during its design to ensure breathability, yet sweating was still inevitable when moving through the dense crowds. Fortunately, the makeup utilized waterproof and sweatproof products, preventing any embarrassing large-scale makeup meltdowns.
When collaborating for this convention photography, to capture results that better fit the character's cool and agile temperament, we needed to look for suitable reflective surfaces within the standing areas. The cool-toned lighting of the halls natively matched the blue costume quite well; slightly adjusting the camera position allowed us to capture a translucent feel. However, because there were simply too many passersby on-site, being able to capture a few photos with clean compositions relied entirely on the photographer's patient positioning and guidance at the venue.
Overall, this was a vibrant yet quite physically demanding convention experience. I look forward to bringing more mature works next time. As for the daily maintenance and overall coordination insights of this look, that is all for today, offering some practical reference suggestions for fellow hobbyists who also plan to cosplay this outfit in the future.
