Today is my day off, so I decided to put together a casual Wolf gijinka original design set for Wriothesley. A petite girl like me honestly can't fill out the imposing frame of this 190 cm giant in HoYoverse's original costume, so for this original design, I went with a combination of a white shirt, a black vest, and an unfastened, loosened tie, deliberately rolling the sleeves up to the elbows in an attempt to retain a touch of the Duke's crisp sharpness within the nonchalance. The wig was styled into a messy yet razor-sharp spiky texture, keeping a streak of silver-white highlights across the forehead to echo the feral edge of the wolf theme. The gradient black-and-grey beast ears perched on my head were the key to amping up the atmosphere; the fur texture looks remarkably authentic, and putting them on instantly brought the wolf gijinka concept to life.
For the makeup, the base was kept on the cool-pale side, with the main focus placed on the eyes. To make the gaze appear deeper and sterner, I heavily blended reddish-brown tones along the outer corners and lower lash lines. Paired with light blue contacts, this cultivated the vibe of someone who works long-term in an underground fortress—looking slightly fatigued yet piercingly observant. A low-saturation nude lip color toned down overall chromatic contrast, locking the visual center of gravity firmly onto the eyes and facial contours. Since I was handling both the modeling and shooting myself, I dialed the lighting to a cool tone, concentrating highlights primarily along the bridge of the nose and cheekbones to create a firmer, more rugged aesthetic.
Pose and demeanor designs during the shoot also centered around the character's personality. Holding the tie loosely with one hand, crossing arms over the chest, or shielding half the face with the back of a hand were all intended to convey the Duke's guarded distance and reluctance to let others get too close easily. While this original concept might diverge slightly from official lore and border on being a little OOC, I personally adore this kind of slice-of-life grounding for characters. Although a girl's bone structure is delicate, wearing this double-breasted vest can still showcase a distinct, clean aesthetic that bridges the physical disparity. From hair and makeup to shooting and post-processing, this set was completed entirely on my own, deepening my understanding of Wriothesley throughout the journey. That wraps up today's day-off Male character cosplay project; I hope everyone also finds something relaxing to enjoy over the weekend.
