[Yae Miko and Raiden Shogun Cosplay] Genshin Impact Inazuma Japanese Style Room Frame-Freeze

This set of close-up duo shots attempted with my partner was presented from a very down-to-earth perspective. The over-the-shoulder composition in the photo represents a very genuine line of sight during face-to-face communication; compared to front-facing poses, this method gives the frame much more untold story depth.

As for styling, the pink wig and intricate metallic headpiece were exceptionally tough to secure, requiring tons of bobby pins and hairspray to stabilize. Although a bit heavy, these small details couldn't be slacked on to accurately recreate the character's disposition. The white top paired with purple cherry blossom patterned sleeves, embellished with red cord ties, easily brought out that gorgeous yet subtly lazy aura in terms of overall color palette.

Our photographer friend working as our partner was also very understanding. The purple silhouette on the left belongs to a gorgeous Raiden Shogun cosplay outfit—with wide sleeves and heavy armor structures, taking it on and off was extremely exhausting. To avoid bumping accessories into each other, we adjusted our sitting angles many times, striving to present that eternal freeze-frame feeling within limited space.

The environment was chosen in a traditional Japanese style room, where wooden frames and paper doors naturally filter light softly. Some side lighting sources were added in the studio to illuminate skin tone and hair color with rich texture. I'm not a fan of high-contrast, harsh lighting, preferring instead this soft ambient light and shadow to more authentically reveal fabric textures and harmony with the raw wood background.

In post-processing, we refrained from excessive skin smoothing, preserving genuine skin texture. For realistic Cosplay photography, I believe the more natural the facial details, the easier it is for viewers to believe this image truly exists in reality rather than feeling like over-polished CG. The floor on shooting day was actually super hard, making my legs go completely numb after sitting for a while, but seeing the final photos made it all worthwhile. Duo interactive shoots test chemistry and relaxation the most; thankfully, this collaboration turned out very comfortable.
