Shooting Diaochan's default skin this time truly involved a great deal of thought regarding makeup, styling, and scene setting. From the moment I received this costume, I carefully studied all the fine details from the original splash art. The color palette of Diaochan's original design features that quintessential classical pink and white; the graceful drape and airy flutter of the skirt are the very soul of the look. To capture that ethereal lightness, I worked on the layering of the undergarments and skirt hem, combining lustrous satin with delicate sheer chiffon so that the voluminous sleeves would billow naturally with every step, as if caressed by a gentle breeze. To ensure the metal accessories on the bodice didn't look cheap, I took the time to repaint and distress them, and handpicked the clearest, most translucent sapphire for the chestpiece—a true testament to a detail-oriented perfectionist.

A special highlight goes to the leg details. The white patterned pantyhose from the original art are notoriously unforgiving on leg shape. Paired with white high heels, maintaining a taut arch whether standing or posing was essential to convey an agile yet subtly alluring poise. In the first shot seated on the lotus throne, stepping onto soft cushions while balancing on high heels required constant core engagement to stay steady, yet to preserve the picture's elegance, I had to power through while projecting an effortless composure. The angle of my seated posture was adjusted repeatedly to accentuate the slender lines of the legs without looking cramped, bringing out the smooth texture of the white Stockings and the leg contours to perfection.

Now, onto the props: the bamboo scroll and Go chessboard are crucial for adding scholarly poise and strategic grace to Diaochan's character. When holding the bamboo scroll partially across my face, the expression in my eyes had to be carefully balanced—neither too stiff nor vacant, but carrying a subtle, unspoken yearning. For the chessboard shot, we prepared a solid wood Go board along with authentic black and white Yunzi stones; I tested several grip angles with my fingertips before finding a natural, visually pleasing hold. The plum blossoms and paper lanterns in the traditional setting provided a rich cultural backdrop. The warm yellow overhead lighting tested facial evenness, but thankfully the bone structure held up well on camera, with precise highlighters accentuating a three-dimensional facial contour.

For the makeup, to highlight Diaochan's dazzling allure as a peerless dancer, I applied a reddish-brown gradient around the eyes, elongating the winged eyeliner. The golden huadian forehead emblem and delicate rhinestones around the eyes served as the crowning touch, catching the light with subtle sparkles. The oversized hair bun and long red ribbons were also quite a feat—the ribbons especially required fine monofilament wire to maintain an airborne, dynamic flow within a static frame. Keeping the wig smooth and silky required non-stop brushing every few minutes to prevent any stray flyaways.

Looking back at the finished photos, I feel we truly brought out Diaochan's blend of enchanting warmth and aloof elegance. From the billowy pink sleeves to the refined texture of the white Stockings and heels, this entire set made every bit of effort worthwhile. The default skin is truly a classic—a timeless ancient beauty that shines effortlessly on its own.
