For this trip to the REDLAND 2026 comic-con, I cosplayed Vesna from Genshin Impact. Preparing this outfit took quite a bit of effort in advance. The entire costume is anchored in a blue-and-white color palette accented with gold and silver metallic trims. To recreate the crisp, fantastical coldness of Snezhnaya seen in the official art, I chose fabrics with a subtle pearlescent sheen. The wig is pale blonde with cyan-blue highlights; styling the gradient tips required getting up early every morning to shape and set them with a flat iron. The most time-consuming part was actually the pair of translucent wings, bordered with golden geometric leaf-vein patterns. To ensure I could move around comfortably at the convention, I calibrated the tension of the back harness so it stayed secure without digging into my shoulders.
Because the caption joked about Snezhnayans being able to fly, quite a few fellow fans teased me by asking if I was going to take off today. Honestly, just walking smoothly through the venue all day in these high-heeled knee boots while carrying wings was already a massive feat. To complement the silhouette, I paired white Stockings with the boots and gave the skirt special structured puffiness, ensuring the proportions and lines looked well-balanced in full-body shots. For makeup, I emphasized blue contact lenses and subtle fairy markings along the cheeks. Paired with custom Elf ears cosplay props, the look captured a wonderfully translucent texture under the convention's natural light.
The shooting took place near an industrial-style locker and shipping container area, where the cool-toned backdrop echoed the blue-and-white colors of my outfit. The photographer made great use of the ambient light to clearly capture the translucent reflections of the wings behind me. When posing, I tried resting one hand on my hip or clasping both hands in front, primarily to highlight the tiered layers of the skirt and the clean lines of my legs. Whenever I attend a convention, the greatest joy is meeting so many fellow Genshin Impact fans, exchanging tips on costume crafting, and discussing how to handle specific details. Even though walking all day in heeled boots made my feet sore and the fur collar felt a bit stuffy in the crowded halls, seeing the interplay of light and shadow in the final photos made every bit of effort worth it. I also met many other talented cosplayers at the con, all passionately expressing their love for their characters in their own way. With the con wrapped up, it's time to pack this outfit away neatly, and I look forward to returning in top form with new works next time.
