When shooting this set of Tsukatsuki Rio cosplay, I deliberately chose a classroom with a subtle everyday feel. The blackboard, wooden desks and chairs, and gentle incoming light instantly evoked that signature campus atmosphere unique to Blue Archive.
The core of this look is the iconic long, straight black hair with blunt bangs. The red-and-black halo prop overhead took quite a bit of effort to install in real life, requiring careful angle adjustments to stay stable and look natural without feeling jarring. For the costume, I selected the standard Millennium Science School configuration: a structured black blazer over a white turtleneck base, paired with a matching pleated skirt and black stockings, faithfully recreating the visual layers of the original art.
I especially want to mention the white ID badge on the chest. I meticulously verified its details against official settings; though small, it's crucial for character immersion. On my feet, the glossy patent leather high heels with classic red soles combined with the sheen of the black stockings to create rich textural depth in the dark palette under photographer Manager DD's lens.
In terms of posing, we didn't force overly dramatic postures, focusing instead on preserving the character's signature calm and reserved composure. For example, crouching to touch my shoe required steady balance to keep my upper body straight, which was a real test of core stability. Other poses, such as sitting on the desk edge with legs crossed or resting a hand beside the desk, focused on highlighting the natural folds of the uniform skirt and blazer hem.
Throughout the shoot, the photographer managed highlight reflections exceptionally well—especially the semi-matte texture of the black stockings under diffused classroom light and the glossy shine of the patent heels, giving the photos a clear, translucent quality. Because the blazer fabric is crisp and structured, it produced realistic contours during movements. Conveying this character's academic aura and quiet presence through a classroom photo shoot made for a truly enjoyable uniform cosplay experience.
