When shooting this work, we focused our attention directly on shaping the environment and light/shadows. Special thanks to photographer Huayueying this time; his control of natural light and ambient lighting made us very relaxed in front of the camera. He is extremely good at capturing light textures, making many seemingly casual movements full of flavor under his lens language. This photoshoot used three scenes: a bar, a billiard room, and a Christmas tree, with each scene's staging focusing on different aspects. The bar set used warm-toned localized light; that slightly tipsy red halo paired with close-ups of drink glasses perfectly showcased the ambiguous interactive feeling between the characters. The billiard room set was actually a real test of patience because the floor reflections were very strong. Character positioning had to be extremely precise to simultaneously show the texture of the black leather pants and the outline of hair strands in the frame. I personally really loved the lazy yet oppressive aura of that photo set. The visual color scheme of red, black, and white stood out brilliantly in the warm environment. Although putting on this outfit was quite complex and required restyling after every short period of shooting, seeing that sharp yet elegant feel in the final photos made all the hard work feel worthwhile. To restore the specific details of the character, I put a lot of thought into the materials of the white lace inner top and red coat, hoping to present a luxurious yet crisp, capable feeling. My partner Evelyn's styling with black leather boots and trousers was another major highlight of this set, where the tough texture formed a strong contrast with my red outfit. To showcase the character's aura, we worked together on movements and eye contact for a long time—for example, in that chin-cupping shot, the extent had to be just right to look natural with a doting feel. We also put effort into props; for example, the red drink with a green straw was chosen specifically to add that strong visual contrast. The shooting process was actually very enjoyable. We progressed as if telling a story; the atmospheric feel is the very essence of these photos. Behind every work lies our dedication to studying character details, which is also inseparable from the photographer's precise guidance behind the viewfinder, enabling us to capture the most natural and authentic moments of interaction.
