Cosplaying Shimoe Koharu this time required extensive preparation right from the initial stages. This outfit design from Blue Archive is exceptionally distinctive: a pink midriff-baring sailor suit paired with a white pleated skirt, with the petite black wings at the waist serving as the core essence. To match the character's long pink hair, I deliberately selected a gradient wig with reddish roots, carefully trimmed the bangs, and spent considerable time pinning the black feather hair accessories on both sides to find their optimal angle. Pinkish-purple contacts were chosen to enhance the overall 2D aesthetic.

For makeup, the primary focus was on the eyes. Warm red-toned eyeshadow was blended along the outer corners with intensified eyeliner, while blush was dusted beneath the lower eyelids and across the tip of the nose to cultivate an innocent yet slightly rebellious charm, rounded off with a soft pink matte lip glaze. The overarching look aimed to strike a balance between cool attitude and adorable sweetness.

The backdrop was a solid gradient paper sweep transitioning from pink to purple, accompanied by a greyish-blue school desk and wooden chair to evoke an authentic classroom ambiance. The lighting setup utilized large softboxes to ensure smooth, even facial illumination, supplemented by rim lights from the side and rear to build dimensional depth. This bright, high-key color grading infused the frames with lively energy.

Throughout the session, I explored various seated poses to accentuate garment nuances and body proportions. Perching along the desk edge with crossed legs naturally elongated leg lines; the white slouchy socks paired with white sneakers harmonized beautifully with the pleated skirt. The photographer advised me to tighten my core and keep my spine upright, which effectively highlighted the cropped top silhouette and sharpened waist contours. Hand positioning was equally vital: resting lightly on the chest cords or bracing against the desk surface prevented the arms from appearing stiff.

The yellow-and-white cheerleader pom-poms served as fantastic interactive props, whether held in hand or placed beside me, injecting bouncy vivacity into the compositions. In controlling expressions, I experimented with aloof, languid, and mildly pouty moods, tucking the chin slightly and locking eyes directly with the lens to project presence. Special care was taken during takes to smooth out creases along the sailor collar stripes and the pink piping of the skirt hem.

Wrapping up the entire set, moving up and down the chairs in stockings was undeniably tiring, yet seeing the vivid, saturated frames made the level of faithful recreation truly satisfying. Cosplay is never just about wearing a character's wardrobe—it is about sculpting fine details and committing entirely to the persona. I hope this performance captures her unique charm.
