Today's shoot features Tia from Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Preparing for this session took quite some time; styling the wig and finalizing the makeup alone required considerable dedication. To faithfully capture the character's playful yet subtly alluring charm, I deliberately accentuated the blush and warmth around my eyes and cheeks, paired with a golden bob wig and pointed elf ears to sculpt more dimensional facial contours. Wardrobe-wise, it's a campus-inspired JK uniform styling featuring a pale-blue knit cardigan over a white collared shirt with a necktie, complemented on the lower half by deep-navy shorts, a white leather belt, and suspender harness straps. The most eye-catching accents are undoubtedly the leather thigh garter strap and over-the-knee white stockings—this combination not only echoes the overall color palette but also enriches visual layering.
The shoot was staged in an all-white cyclorama studio with evenly balanced illumination, providing a clean canvas that directs complete viewer focus onto the subject. The on-set props were wonderfully minimalist: a vintage school desk and chair paired with a brown teddy bear. The photographer, Xiaoyu Chuqing, brought seasoned lighting expertise to the table, specifically finessing side-light angles to render translucent skin tones while preserving the shadow gradients of fabric folds and white stockings. We initially tried sitting atop the desk with my left leg propped across the adjacent chair, flashing a peace sign beside my cheek with my right hand. While this pose appears effortless, fine-tuning the arch of the instep and the gentle curve of the knee was necessary to carve out graceful leg lines. Because I wore white stockings, studio lighting can easily blow them out into chalky whites, so we continuously calibrated the aperture and strobe output to showcase the authentic tactile weave of the textile.
For the second sequence, I cradled the teddy bear in my arms with a hand resting against my forehead, letting both legs drape naturally toward the floor to create dynamic visual tension utilizing the height differential between the desk and chair. Being what people affectionately call a curvy, thick-thighed girl, I genuinely love having a bit of softness to my thighs. Cosplay aesthetics have become delightfully diverse nowadays, and I believe a healthy, curvaceous physique inherently radiates immense charm. The thigh garter straps and stockings visually segment the proportions, working with the "absolute territory" framed between shorts and stockings to flatter natural leg curves. Throughout the shoot, I continuously worked on my state of mind—stiff poses easily look unnatural before the lens, so I relaxed as much as possible, envisioning myself as that very character lounging in the classroom with a touch of lazy warmth.
Between takes, the photographer and I frequently discussed how to make postures feel more organic. For instance, when feet are suspended in the air, gently flexing the toes and instep instantly tightens and elongates calf muscle lines. In the second frame, resting one foot on the chair while the other hung downward introduced an asymmetrical posture that captured spontaneous, vibrant authenticity. Although holding poses for extended periods was physically taxing, seeing the final frames made all the prior groundwork and on-set synergy thoroughly worthwhile. This set preserved campus schoolgirl motifs while evoking a distinct allure through stockings, harness straps, and stylized makeup. I hope this creative endeavor brings everyone a breath of fresh air; with every photoshoot, I continue to learn and explore even more styles tailored to who I am.
