[Kochiya Sanae Cosplay] A Day of Being Blown Away by the Wind in Ozen

I captured an atmospheric Kochiya Sanae Cosplay shoot in Ozen. The wind was truly fierce, blowing my hair into a mess, but the result turned out surprisingly dynamic. For this Autumn outdoor scene, we chose the South Park of Ozen. Entering from the North Gate and heading straight to the center of the lake, the ginkgo leaves along the path had turned completely golden, creating a striking visual contrast against the green hair and white-and-blue outfit. Nearby were several majestic trees resembling sacred trees, making them perfect backdrops.

Shooting that day was quite an ordeal. The autumn wind in Beijing wasn't gentle at all—no sooner had I adjusted my wig than the wind sent it dancing wildly again. Yet this natural motion felt far more alive than rigid posing, especially when the wind lifted the wide sleeves and long skirt, evoking the visual sensation of a 'miracle' descending. The head accessories and the white talismans in my hands were especially tricky to manage in the gusts, taking several attempts to catch the exact moment the paper fluttered.

Wearing this full outfit was quite a test of endurance. The waist sash, oversized haori coat, polka-dot trousers, wooden geta clogs, and tabi socks required careful footing when navigating woods and stone bridges. Still, maintaining a sense of visual lightness was essential to stay true to the character design.

Here is a quick tip for shooting in Ozen: head there in the afternoon when sunlight filters through the ginkgo foliage onto your face. The soft natural lighting creates a translucent skin texture without needing heavy artificial lights. When capturing dynamic poses—like raising one foot or looking back—control your body lean carefully. Watch your footing among fallen leaves and stone steps, and coordinate with the gohei wand and talismans to frame beautiful compositions.

Although it was quite windy and dusty, preserving these moments during the most pleasant stretch of autumn made it all worthwhile. The fabric shone nicely under the sun without harsh reflections on the white parts, and the drape of the blue polka-dot trousers exceeded expectations. Reviewing these photos, this softly diffused natural light suited the character's style wonderfully, with natural ease as the wind blows through my hair. That wraps up my share for this autumn shoot!
