[Unicorn Cosplay] Azur Lane: Unicorn on the Convention Floor

The crowd at Firefly ACG Expo was as massive as ever. To capture ideal frames, I specifically chose a rest area inside the venue with relatively ample lighting. For the wig, I selected light purple straight hair with blunt bangs, secured into twin-tails on both sides with large purple bows featuring cross motifs; this color maintained great texture under the on-site lights. The height and curve of the hairstyle also framed my face shape nicely.

The costume design focuses on lace trims and a translucent tulle bow at the neckline, where the white fabric presented a very soft luster under the hall's cool-toned lighting. The off-the-shoulder cut places high demands on shoulder and necklines, but the overall effect matched the purple accessories wonderfully. I wore detached white satin gloves on my arms, with small purple flowers at the cuffs adding plenty of delicate detail. Because the upper half of this outfit has rich layering, the focus was placed on upper-body close-ups to better showcase the collar and shoulder tailoring.

For makeup, I matched it with purple contact lenses in the same color scheme, lightly blended purplish-pink eyeshadow at the outer corners of the eyes, and selected a high-gloss orange-red lipstick. Moving around the convention caused a fair amount of sweating, but the makeup setting held up well; my skin looked clear in the photos, and the rosy lip color balanced the cool base palette, making my complexion look much more vibrant.

During shooting, we avoided the main thoroughfares and found a relatively spacious corner. Aside from occasional passersby in the background, the overall depth of field was great, making the silhouette of the outfit stand out. A few of these shots have sparkling effect stickers added, echoing the shining theme. Convention photography truly relies on candid timing and lighting coordination—especially in such a vast environment, one must ensure the subject pops while maintaining proper exposure for the skirt and accessories.

When preparing this look, I paid special attention to balancing convenience and aesthetics. The bow hairpieces stayed very secure and didn't shift while walking through crowded halls. The wig also required care: to maintain the curve of the bangs, I reinforced them with a round brush before heading out. Although humidity softened them slightly, the twin-tail structure visually supported the overall volume. The subtle sheen on the purple bows caught the light at certain angles, perfectly fitting the character's 2D persona.

Camera perspectives each had their own focus: an eye-level shot emphasized eye contact and chest details, while a close-up selfie preserved skin and fabric textures. Many fellow fans passed by, and though the set was simple, its strength lay in natural authenticity. The fabric is light and flows gracefully when walking, though with the off-the-shoulder cut, staying warm in heavily air-conditioned halls is something to keep in mind.

All of the above are direct raw shots or lightly retouched without excessive distortion, preserving the original look. As a convention record, this natural presentation is what satisfies me most. Taking photos from different angles amid the lively convention atmosphere successfully captured the refreshing essence of this Azur Lane character.
