For this cosplay shoot of Haruka from the Arknights 'Moonlight Over Water' series, the key was restoring the character's temperament through the pink styling and contrasting expressions. Detailed planning began right from makeup testing: a layered pink wig was chosen, with bangs and sideburns meticulously styled to achieve a natural, airy look. The makeup focused on pink tones with a very porcelain base; eye makeup emphasized blended gradients—especially the reddish transition at the outer corners—which, paired with light pink lips, aimed to create a doll-like delicate texture. For the costume, the oversized pink-striped bow on top served as the visual focal point, paired with a reddish-brown plaid dress. The outer layer featured a loose-fitting striped cardigan in a matching color palette, worn off-the-shoulder on purpose to add visual layering. The brown heart-shaped leather bag was the finishing touch—its leather texture and metallic buckles not only added quality but also nicely balanced the overall sweetness. The shoot took place in a pure white studio. The lighting ratio was kept even and soft without harsh shadows, ensuring accurate color reproduction for both skin and outfit. Two distinct moods were communicated with the photographer: the first pose featured hands folded over the chest with slightly lowered eyes to evoke a quiet, slightly distant narrative atmosphere; the second involved leaning towards the camera with a playful finger point and a sweet smile, highlighting the character's lively and cheeky side. This shoot paid special attention to transitioning between expressions, which felt essential to bringing out the character's traits. As a cosplayer, preparing for this helped me appreciate the character's multifaceted nature even more, and I hoped my expressions and movements would fit the character's setting seamlessly. Bringing this work to life was a wonderful experience for me. A huge thank-you to photographer C-kun @Ccccc💮 for the patient guidance and professional framing, which brought out the very best visual results for both costume and makeup.
