[Jane Doe cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero, techwear armor and ripped Black stockings convention photoshoot

I attended this IJOY Anime Convention directly wearing this Jane Doe cosplay look. Since I wore it out, of course I had to take a set of convention photos to record it. Many people's first reaction upon seeing this styling was the extremely eye-catching long tail, as well as the complete techwear outfit.

Let's start with the costume part. The grayish-green jacket on the upper body, combined with dense buckle and strap designs, retains a strong cyberpunk texture, while the white fleece patchwork at the collar softens the tough visual effect. The inner layer is a black semi-sheer patchwork top, paired with a red-and-black color-blocked tie adorned with metal accessories—details that reflected light quite nicely under the convention lighting.

The lower body is paired with glossy black leather hot pants, whose edge zippers and grommet belt designs fit the character's capable style. For the legs, I used Black stockings with distinct rips, positioned at the knees and thighs; combined with the black leather leg garter on the right leg, this greatly enhanced the visual presence of the legs, making it one of the most eye-catching highlights of the entire look.

In terms of props, this long segmented tail on the lower body is the core visual center of gravity. The arrow shape at the tip of the light-green tail restores the character's features. During dynamic snapshots, the tail swayed with body movements, adding lots of dynamic energy to the photos. The platform mecha ankle boots on my feet are also very substantial; with a silver-gray shoe body and red textures, the overall color coordination achieves a high level of completion.

Head details also took quite some effort. The short black hair has very vibrant red highlights at the ends with natural color transitions, which, paired with deep blue colored contacts, make the gaze look sharper. The black beast-ear headpiece worn on the head features fluffy edges that soften the cool, sharp edge of the overall outfit, giving distinct anime characteristics.

The shooting location was chosen along the second-floor glass corridor at the IJOY Anime Convention, where outdoor natural light filtered through large glass curtain walls. Combined with the yellow-and-white caution tape signs behind, it created a cool-toned, industrial spatial ambiance, producing great light and shadow effects with almost no extra lighting required. When taking snapshots, the photographer had me strike various poses, such as holding the red-and-black weapon accessories firmly with both hands or standing straight to let the tail hang naturally, striving to restore the character's in-game status and idle state.

However, wearing this gear also came with practical challenges. Moving through crowds with the long tail required extra care to avoid tripping fellow attendees. While platform boots boosted height, they raised the center of gravity, causing noticeable leg soreness after standing for a long time. The wig was also prone to getting messy in the crowded convention environment, but fortunately, I carried setting spray to touch it up anytime.

Regardless, being able to interact with everyone in this persona on-site and leave behind this set of convention photos was deeply satisfying. This styling has strong design sensibility in itself; if there's an opportunity in the future, I'd love to wear it to more open outdoor locations to explore more perspectives and lighting creations in cosplay.
