[Vivian Cosplay] The Exclusive Void Hunter in Zenless Zone Zero: Capturing Phaethon-sama's Gaze

Preparing this Vivian outfit took quite some time to ponder, and today I mainly want to record some styling details from this set of photos.

The wig on top uses light purple as the primary shade combined with bright white highlights. To fit the Elf ear style setting, custom mold-fitting was applied around the auricle area. The dark blue multi-layered pleated bowtie at the top of the wig is the soul; to keep its 3D shape, a slight shaping soft steel ring structure was added inside, providing great visual layering from the side without collapsing.

Reddish-brown eyeshadow and dark contact lenses lengthened the gaze slightly, working with aegyo sal and eyeliner to make the eyes brighter on camera. Brow color was brought closer to hair tone for a softer overall look. Regarding the eyes, this styling gives me a feeling both mysterious and reliant. During makeup, lip line sharpness was minimized, using a moist-texture lip glaze to match the outfit's sweet attributes.

The upper body features a slightly stretchy black velvet vest paired with a white lantern-sleeve shirt, offering a comfortable color contrast. The blue-purple spliced striped bowtie and chest bow serve as visual centerpieces of the entire look, richly layered. Wearing shirts with bulky sleeves easily makes one look bloated, so I intentionally folded cuffs upward twice, fastening placket buttons before tweaking forearm gestures to tighten the silhouette. I didn't tie a rigid knot for the bowtie, leaving slightly longer ribbon tails to let them drape naturally with seating postures, feeling much more breathable than neat knotting.

Black stockings paired with layered black skirts might look unnatural if purely standing, so I primarily adopted leaning seated poses and high-angle overhead shots. The combo of black stockings and skirt hem naturally draws eyes downward, which is one reason I chose this angle for selfie shots. Rather than forcing poses, a relaxed posture integrates better with the garment's tailoring. Black nail polish was applied, catching nice details during small hand movements.

An indoor cabinet structure was chosen as backdrop—the combo of wood grain and pure white panels doesn't steal visual focus, but highlights the outfit's black, white, and purple palette. Top lighting neatly differentiated the matte texture of stockings from the jacket's gloss. During shooting, I sent my gaze directly toward the camera, creating a conversational atmosphere in the photos.

Honestly, the hardest part of prepping this outfit was making the ears seamlessly blend with the wig. Elf ear style pieces are long, needing to tuck wig tail ends behind the head while accommodating the headpiece. I used two extra transparent steel clips to secure ear positions so even with large head turns before the lens, ears remained locked in place.

Many friends in cosplay often overlook accessory texture. For blue-white striped and purple-spliced bowties, thin satin shines excessively and washes out colors on camera. I specifically chose matte, slightly thick fabric with tight stitching, matching the character's exquisite standard. The color palette—black, white, blue, purple, and pure white hair—is a classic, fool-proof formula.

Additionally, for composition tips in Anime-style fashion shoots, try foreground obstructions—placing sleeves or hands closer to the front of the lens breaks frame monotony and allows fast autofocus on the eyes. Shooting characters with Elf ear style lets you freely express youthful gazes while preserving tailor-made sartorial feel, making for a refreshing Casual cosplay experience. That wraps up this shoot—feeling completely immersed in character vibe was wonderful.
