Putting on this costume for Nijika Ijichi cosplay, confirming the wig and accessories in front of the mirror, and casually pressing the phone shutter to take a selfie—this process truly brings that energetic drummer character from the anime world into real-world three-dimensional space.

Let's first talk about the composition of this cosplay costume. The outermost layer is this loose light mint green cardigan jacket, which has a low color saturation, making it very suitable for daily wear and flattering to the skin tone. Inside, it's paired with a pure white turn-down collar shirt; this layered style beautifully restores Nijika's casual yet student-like daily look, perfectly embodying a slice of anime daily life. The most prominent detail around the neck is this red polka-dot bowtie; although small in area, it brightens up the entire upper body's color palette. With this accessory, the character's recognizability truly stands out. The lower half features a deep navy blue pleated miniskirt with very neat pleats; when sitting or kneeling, the skirt hem spreads out naturally, and its shape closely matches the contours seen in anime illustrations.

Next is another major highlight of this look—the wig. The long golden-yellow hair needs to be styled into twintails, and that iconic ahoge (cowlick) at the top of the head is an indispensable soul detail. To keep this small ahoge upright with a natural curve in front of the lens, it's safe to say I spent a lot of time and effort fixing its shape during the styling phase. The drape of the twintails is also excellent, falling just on both sides of the shoulders without looking overly heavy, visually maintaining a sense of lightness.

The photography poses are actually quite casual. The first photo chooses sitting on a light-colored raw wood-textured chair with legs crossed. This pose can not only showcase the overall Anime-style fashion outfit but also completely display the classic configuration of white knee-high socks and black loafers in the frame. The length of the white socks over the knee modifies the lines of the legs, and the reflection on the surface of the loafers also adds texture to the picture. The second photo adopts a kneeling pose on the wooden floor with a slightly lower perspective, focusing on showcasing the layering of the top garments and the drape of the skirt hem. Using a phone case decorated with a bear plushie pattern to cover the face, on one hand, this action and expression are very common in anime convention or casual cosplay selfies; on the other hand, it intentionally downplays facial features, allowing the audience to focus their visual attention on the costume, wig, and that everyday cute aura.

The background is chosen in front of a light-colored wood grain floor and a white wood grain door panel. The overall environment is very clean without too many cluttered elements interfering, which makes the color combination of the mint green jacket and the red bowtie stand out more. In the image, I intentionally used post-processing stickers to add two chibi animated character illustrations—one standing in the upper left corner and one with a cute, blank expression in the lower right corner. This way of overlaying across the dimensional wall adds a touch of fun and a sense of anime fidelity to the entire photo.

Although this fitting looks like a simple school-uniform-style pairing, the restoration of each detail actually needs careful consideration. The material of the green cardigan must be everyday and soft, the bowtie shouldn't be too stiff, and if the wig's ahoge isn't done well, it won't match the character's spirit at all. When bringing these items and details together, the overall presented effect truly makes one find that feeling inside the club room filled with a rock music atmosphere. Setting aside the phone case blockage, every time I try on clothes full of youthful, daily elements, my mood genuinely becomes relaxed.
