This Traditional Chinese style cosplay look for Luo Tianyi conveys a crisp serenity and ethereal charm nestled within a Spring garden. The layers of the ensemble are wonderfully intricate: the outermost blue standing-collar capelet is trimmed with white lace and golden piping, while the black inner bandeau top introduces bold tonal contrast and flatters the neckline. The sleeves are one of my absolute favorite details—sheer bell sleeves shifting through a gradient of purple, blue, and pink, whose flowing drape looks magnificent when caught by the wind or dynamic movement. The golden auspicious cloud ornament at the waist serves as a prime visual anchor, harmonizing with the multi-tiered tulle skirt shifting from pink to white and lilac, allowing the skirt's rich tiers to billow lavishly with every step.
For the wig, I trimmed subtle wisps around the hairline to give the long, silver-grey locks a natural, airy bounce. The golden crescent moon crown pinned to the crown of the head and the pink floral tassel hairpin along the temple were custom-crafted. Paired with soft green contact lenses, the makeup relied on reddish-brown eyeshadows to deepen the eye contour, accented by an orange-toned crimson lip that enlivens the complexion while anchoring the coolness of the silver hair. For props, I prepared a semi-translucent circular silk fan; the painted pink blossoms on its surface echoed the floral hair ornaments and tassels seamlessly. Holding it not only enhanced the classical Ancient style photography allure, but also naturally resolved the classic dilemma of where to rest one's hands during posing.
The shoot was staged in a traditional Chinese garden right after a fresh rainfall, where weathered wooden fences and towering foliage offered an evocative natural backdrop. Although the damp wooden deck was somewhat slick, the gentle reflections off the wet surface softened the illumination across the entire frame. To highlight the outfit's intricate tailoring, I fine-tuned my seated postures—angling my torso slightly and spreading the skirt wide to fully showcase the lightness of the gradient tulle. Furthermore, pairing the look with white lace over-the-knee Stockings enhanced the fairy-like elegance while offering protection against outdoor mosquitoes and extending visual depth downward.
While seated on the wooden chair holding the fan, I mindfully adjusted my shoulder tilt, using the fan's curved rim to partially obscure my facial contour so my gaze appeared sharper and more focused. Because the bell sleeves are voluminous, I constantly had to smooth and arrange the cuffs between shots to prevent the sheer fabric from bunching into a bulky silhouette. Before the lens, I kept my neck and shoulders relaxed, imagining myself immersed in a tranquil sanctuary and letting my eyes communicate still serenity. Although the costume assembly was complex, the result was a delightful surprise; blending traditional Chinese elements with modern tailoring preserved character authenticity while keeping movement effortless. The entire session was a rhythm of adjusting fabric folds, angling the fan, and chasing the most flattering reflections in natural light—and I am thoroughly pleased with the final texture we achieved.
