A great deal of thought went into hair, makeup, and set design for this Blue Archive Misaki cosplay. For the wardrobe, I selected a modified sleeveless black Qipao that retains traditional frog closures at the neckline, accented with a single light-blue bead. Golden embroidery adorns both the sides and the front of the dress, paired with an oversized pinstriped long-sleeve blazer. During shooting, I deliberately let the jacket slip down toward my elbows—this allowed us to showcase the pinstripe texture while revealing the tailored cut, shoulders, and neckline of the inner Qipao.
The wig was styled with blunt bangs and two twin buns at the back. Atop the head, pink cat ear props and grey crescent-horn ornaments had to be mounted simultaneously. These accessories carry noticeable weight, requiring numerous bobby pins crisscrossed into the wig cap to secure them firmly, while demanding constant vigilance over angles during the shoot to prevent slipping or visible clips. For eye makeup, a generous blending of reddish-pink eyeshadow was paired with pale contacts to emphasize the character's hazy yet cool, detached gaze.
The set design leaned entirely into an Ancient style cosplay fantasy aesthetic. In the center, a colossal circular luminary was placed to simulate a glowing full moon, flanked on the left by an artificial tree laden with white blossoms and on the right by an intricately carved dark wooden desk. White fabric draped the floor, lightly sprinkled with water to create reflective puddles, with scattered white petals adding depth to the scene. For lighting, the key source cast a cool white light over the subject, while a warm amber Chinese floor lamp in the corner introduced a warm-and-cool contrast that enhanced skin translucency and elevated the setting's atmospheric richness.
Posing primarily involved leaning against the edge of the wooden desk. To convey the languid elegance and intrinsic aura of the character, I shifted my center of gravity backward, propping my chin with one hand on the tabletop while gazing straight into the lens. Wearing sheer black Stockings on a damp floor required extra care while posing, extending my leg lines forward with pointed arches to visually elongate the silhouette. The sheer texture of the Stockings caught soft glints under the cool lighting, harmonizing effortlessly with the full moon in the background. The entire photoshoot was a process of continuously smoothing fabric folds, realigning wig strands and props, and sustaining that distinct commanding presence to ensure every shot showcased Misaki cosplay in top form.
