Heading to the coast to shoot this dark green blazer JK uniform was primarily intended to recreate an authentic Japanese school uniform everyday aesthetic. Just as I arrived at the breakwater, I ran into a family of three. After observing from a short distance for a while, they sent the father over to ask if I was doing a cosplay shoot. I was quite surprised—apparently, in the eyes of passersby, my look instantly triggered their anime radar! In reality, I had simply tied my silver synthetic wig into two low casual twintails, pairing it with this uniform and a brown school bag adorned with hanging pink and black plush charms. Perhaps the light hair color, combined with the sharp contrast between the dark green blazer and the vibrant orange train in the background, instantly transformed what was meant to be a realistic high school vibe into an anime convention scene.

I really adore the tailoring of this uniform. The dark green double-breasted blazer has a structured, crisp silhouette; its golden buttons gleam beautifully under the sunlight, and the delicate gold crest on the left chest adds an exquisite touch. Underneath, a classic white button-up shirt was paired with a yellow ribbon tie. On the bottom, the pleated skirt hit just the right length, swaying with lovely movement as I walked. To preserve the authentic school aesthetic, I wore dark green crew socks and black loafers, while Stockings gave the overall leg silhouette a smooth, flattering texture under the sun. The embroidered logo on the socks was adorable, and though the overall palette leaned dark, the leg lines retained great dimensional depth in the daylight. The brown school bag was surprisingly spacious, holding spare camera batteries and touch-up makeup while sporting everyday charms.

For Seaside photography, coastal chiaroscuro is paramount. Midday sun was intense, but the sea's reflective surface acted as a natural bounce board. The station platform featured white railings and pink benches against the vivid orange train, creating a photogenic color scheme. I also leaned against the railings beneath trackside signal lights—the yellow and black striped post added an industrial edge. The grey concrete riprap of the breakwater served as a fantastic foreground; whether standing, sitting, or bending over to organize items in my bag, compositions felt unforced.

Being mistaken for a cosplayer made me reflect on how pairing anime-styled hair with a Japanese school uniform sparks such whimsical chemistry. Whether portraying a specific character or not, finding narrative-rich frames in everyday locales is the true joy of this photography. I tested multiple poses, adjusting skirt placement so pleats and leg contours draped naturally on camera. Gentle coastal breezes made the silver strands glisten with rich texture alongside the glittering sea, even lighting up the plush charms. By late afternoon, softer light at the station benches brought a tranquil mood, far more relaxed than midday. Shooting from daylight into dusk is tiring, but the resulting colors and textures make every effort worthwhile.
