The styling details for Hsin were far more intricate than initially anticipated. To faithfully embody her presence from Wuthering Waves, prepping the wig alone demanded immense time. The white hair required styling into two exaggerated, plush fluffy tufts atop the crown, accented with golden branch-like hairpins and crimson tassels strung with white beads—the sheer weight of the headpiece severely tested neck and spine endurance. Makeup emphasized soft red-and-pink smudging around the eyes, while the crimson forehead seal and body paint markings tracing across the collarbones and arms had to be drawn stroke by stroke to project that enchanting, subtly aloof aesthetic.

Managing the wardrobe's layered architecture posed another substantial challenge. The base layer is a shimmer-infused black bodycon minidress with a dramatic high-slit cut that demanded extra caution while moving. An oversized diamond-shaped breastplate brooch, studded with red and blue jewels within gilded borders, was flanked by scarlet tassels and golden chain accents, offering remarkable textural depth. Cascading red-and-white sheer gradient water sleeves trimmed with white feather flounces billowed fluidly with every breeze and pose. To complement the silhouette, I wore a delicate golden chain necklace with a star pendant and a minimalist gold bracelet.

Shooting took place on the bustling grounds of the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo. The venue sweltered under summer heat, packed wall-to-wall with camera-toting photographers and fellow cosplayers. Staying poised amidst such overwhelming energy truly tested my endurance. To channel Hsin's persona, I incorporated deliberate poses: raising both hands beside the cheeks with playfully curved feline claw gestures, or resting a single hand lightly over the gemstone brooch to accentuate the garment's tailoring and character poise. In other takes, gently touching the forehead hairpins while holding a serene gaze directly down the lens conveyed quiet power.

We shot using 7Artisans lenses; a wide aperture proved invaluable amidst the cluttered convention background, blurring the chaos into creamy bokeh to keep sharp focus locked onto the makeup and intricate wardrobe craftsmanship. Though time was tight and attendees continually walked past, the photographer's burst timing was spot-on. I particularly love the stance in Photo 4—hand over chest, subtly turning in three-quarter profile to sculpt the silhouette's curves and highlight the arm body paint. In Photo 8, lightly tucking the hair while revealing long leg lines through the high-slit gown turned out effortlessly natural.

Spending the entire day in Hsin was physically exhausting, but seeing the crisp textile weaves, plush white ears, and iconic red eye makeup on screen validated every ounce of preparation. While Convention photos lack the controlled studio strobes of a set, that raw, electrifying convention atmosphere is irreplaceable. Faithfully resurrecting Hsin's opulent yet menacing presence in reality brought an immense sense of fulfillment.
