[Fate Homurahara Academy School Uniform cosplay] Type-Moon Warehouse vs. M07 Uniform Comparison and Try-On

Recently, while prepping for a Fate series Homurahara Academy School Uniform cosplay, I purchased versions from both Type-Moon Warehouse and M07. Facing these two sets now, I'm truly trapped in a severe dilemma trying to pick between them. To choose the most suitable outfit, I tried them on back-to-back multiple times, meticulously comparing their silhouettes and craftsmanship.

First, regarding the shirts: Type-Moon Warehouse's shirt tailoring is exceptionally crisp. The collar comes with integrated red binding, and the cuffs feature pieced red-and-white stripes, giving off a distinct academy vibe. The curve of its puffed sleeves is relatively rigid, and the fabric has structured body. In contrast, M07's shirt fabric feels slightly softer and is very skin-friendly. The sleeve design similarly features red accent stripes, but with a more pronounced, fluid drape. During try-on, I noticed Type-Moon Warehouse's shirt offers a more broad-shouldered, upright silhouette, whereas M07 leans toward everyday comfort.

For a Homurahara Academy uniform, the neck bow is without question the soulful focal piece. Type-Moon Warehouse's red neck bow is remarkably three-dimensional with excellent ribbon structure, and the two trailing tails feature golden cross patterns—an eye-catching detail that really stands out. By comparison, while M07's bow shares the same shade, its shape is somewhat softer and less defined. Thus, I've had a backup plan in mind: if I end up keeping the full M07 set, I will most likely keep Type-Moon Warehouse's neck bow separately to pair with it. Mixing them like this guarantees both comfortable wear and the most accurate neck bow details.

Next comes the main event: the vest. Both brands crafted vests in a warm-toned brownish tan with nearly identical base colorways. In terms of cut, however, M07's vest is noticeably more cinched at the waist, with back panel lines contouring closely to bodily curves; wearing it instantly creates a sleek silhouette with an exceptionally flattering waistline. Type-Moon Warehouse's vest leans more toward a straight-cut silhouette with subtle tapering, featuring a firmer fabric handfeel. The faux welt pockets on the chest and lower hem cuts are meticulously executed, projecting a very formal, disciplined aura.

As for the skirt, the black pleated long skirt falls right around knee level. Both makers pressed very clean, flat pleats, and the A-line cut flares naturally during movement. Paired with white over-the-knee socks, the iconic school uniform ambiance immediately comes together.

Over the past few days, I shared photos with fellow fans, and everyone has differing opinions. As a long-time Fate fan, this Homurahara uniform holds immense sentimental value for me, which is why choosing between them is so agonizing. M07 offers an outstanding overall wearing experience, making it far better suited for convention floor walks or extended outdoor photoshoots without feeling restrictive. On the other hand, Type-Moon Warehouse triumphs in accessories and fine details, possessing an exquisite polish that is hard to pass up.

Currently, my most favored route is keeping M07's vest and shirt while retaining Type-Moon Warehouse's neck bow. While mixing brands might introduce subtle nuances, trying this hybrid setup is well worth it to achieve the best cosplay outcome. I'm still adjusting things in front of the mirror, hoping this ensemble captures its absolute best form for the official shoot.
