[Denia Cosplay] Wuthering Waves' Summer Island, Where the Sunshine and Breeze Are Just Right

After shooting in this outfit by the sea for a while, the moment the sea breeze blew up indeed fit perfectly into this summer vacation plan. Today I specially chose this beach resort style scene to record this look. With sunshine, beach, swimming pool, and that straw-woven parasol, the frame is packed with elements belonging to summer. For this beach location shoot, I put a lot of thought into everything in advance at the hotel, from combing the wig to positioning the tiny hair accessories.

The first photo was actually meant to capture a casual vacation feel. Sitting on that wooden storage crate printed with a brand logo, holding a semi-transparent pink inflatable swim ring in my hand, the sea breeze did blow my hair into a slightly dynamic look. The color palette of this styling is extremely soft and refreshing, with a light pink top paired with denim shorts, looking very lightweight visually, and the black platform bow sandals also have a bit of neat design. The sunlight was very piercing, but the overhead and rim lighting actually gave the skin a translucent feeling, which is exactly why I really love this kind of outdoor overhead light shooting. Although this outfit is mainly made of tulle and cotton materials, making it quite breathable, walking around on the beach under high temperatures was still a bit strenuous. However, seeing the cool tones of the finished photos makes me feel all the hard work was completely worth it.

The latter two photos were taken after moving to the poolside location, where the tropical greenery background is very lush. Keeping the same wig styling, I changed into a swimsuit set featuring a ruffled design. In Figure 2, I am sitting sideways on the edge of the pool, my body lines relatively relaxed while naturally combing my hair, with a black-and-white lettered outdoor folding chair behind me as a small embellishment. Figure 3 is a more relaxed prone position with my hands propping up my chin and feet naturally kicked up; this posture makes the atmosphere of the entire frame feel very lazy and cozy. The water stains on the surface and the transparent swim ring add a touch of water-glistening effect.

Actually, the ultimate test for this set of works was expression management. Because the sunlight was quite intense, yet I still needed to keep my eyes full of life, I repeatedly confirmed the angles and focal lengths with the photographer. Although this was just a simple summer cosplay resort style outdoor shoot, grasping the character's persona throughout this process still required serious thought. Choosing to shoot during daytime was primarily to capture that translucent and fresh lighting texture; the dreaminess brought by high-key photography suits this pastel-colored attire perfectly.

In terms of communication, the photographer intentionally preserved the rule of thirds and head room during composition, making the ratio of sky to ground look more comfortable. I also tried holding the inflatable swim ring in my hand or placing it beside my body to serve as a visual balance point. During the filming process, the sea breeze would occasionally blow strands of hair onto my face; this natural messiness was actually more vivid than deliberate positioning. Regarding color processing, this time we didn't intentionally suppress the highlights but instead retained the translucent feel of abundant sunshine. The pink-and-blue wig shows a slight optical diffraction gradient effect under the sun, and the post-processing color calibration brought the overall image closer to a macaron color palette, a color scheme that is actually perfect for a summer theme.

For the makeup, I chose light pink shades for both eyeshadow and blush to match the clothing color, with a natural nude pink lip color. Since we were out in the elements all day, I specifically used a setting spray to make the makeup last longer and prevent it from melting due to heavy sweating. All the styling preparations, wig management, including the small eye pattern on this hair accessory, were meant to maximize restoring the character's look by the sea. Although it's a swimwear theme, the poses and expressions when on camera still need to align with the character's unique temperament, carrying a slight sense of curiosity and vitality.
