This time, I'm bringing you the official cosplay photos of Yuno from Wuthering Waves. Ever since deciding to do this character, I've put a lot of thought into the props, makeup, and styling. That iconic, massive blue circular magic disk was the core of the shoot. To recreate its sense of weight and metallic luster, I specially asked a prop master to customize a lightweight version. By hanging it up on-site, we finally captured that magical feeling of it floating in the air.
For the makeup, I focused on handling the character's unique blue pupils and the layers of eye makeup. Coupled with the highly saturated blue hair cosplay in twin-tails, the color transitions presented under the lights are very close to the texture in the game. For the white and gold patchwork section of the costume, we intentionally chose a material with a shimmering fabric so that it would naturally reflect soft highlights under the bright studio lights, avoiding a flat, dead white. This set of photos today was shot using an a7m4 paired with a 24-70mm GM II lens. Most focal length choices were between 35mm and 50mm, which guaranteed the 3D depth of the portrait while ensuring the integrity of the circular ring prop without over-distortion.
During the shooting process, we tried several different perspectives, alternating between sitting and standing poses to heavily emphasize the character's confidence and divinity. Especially for that angle where I reach out toward the lens to offer a blue light orb, the coordination of the gaze and movement perfectly caught the character's haughty yet slightly playful expression. In post-color grading, we maintained the primary blue, white, and gold color scheme and darkened the deep blue starry sky background to make the subject pop.
I'm very glad to bring a beloved character from the screen into reality in this way. Every dedicated character presentation serves as a test of my own aesthetics and execution. I hope it can convey the unique temperament and design beauty of this character.
