[Phoebe Cosplay] Wuthering Waves Phoebe: Awaiting Your Move in a Vintage Chengdu Study

I recently wrapped up a cosplay shoot for Wuthering Waves Phoebe here in Chengdu. The moment I laid eyes on Phoebe, she instantly struck a chord in my heart, so I decided to cosplay her without a second thought. Today, I'm sharing the styling, makeup, and behind-the-scenes thoughts from this shoot.

For this look, I wore an exquisite white tailored suit paired with a draped blue sash cape. The golden embroidery is remarkably intricate, weaving together star patterns and geometric motifs that evoke a distinct fantasy academic charm. Metallic buttons across the attire and golden chains draped at the waist elevated the overall opulence, and our prop team poured immense dedication into crafting her signature scepter. The white wide-brimmed straw hat adorned with a black-striped ribbon bow, along with the blue cross hair clip, are details I particularly adore. To complement the skirt, I wore white tights (White stockings), shaping a style that is both poised and subtly sacred.

For the makeup, I intentionally enlarged the eye look with soft pink eyeshadow and prominent blush, paired with vibrant colored contact lenses to channel Phoebe's innocent yet subtly enigmatic aura. Golden-blonde long wavy locks with blunt bangs softened my facial contours beautifully in front of the lens.

The shoot took place in a vintage study lined with dark wooden bookshelves and stacks of antique tomes, creating a fascinating stylistic collision with the world of Wuthering Waves. The photographer's lighting was sublime—warm amber ambient lamps infused the entire frame with cozy warmth. In the seated shot holding a teacup, I deliberately crossed my legs to flatter the contours of the White stockings while pairing it with an elegant tea-sipping gesture. This added narrative depth, portraying an intellectual enjoying afternoon tea and always ready for a game of chess. For the standing shots holding the scepter, keeping an upright spine was essential to command the character's presence; my gaze needed to be resolute, because delivering that feeling of 'striking straight to your heart' requires true strength in the eyes.

Although the full costume and props were quite heavy—especially sustaining poses while holding the scepter, which definitely left my arms aching—seeing the final edits made every ounce of effort worthwhile. When 2D steps into reality, it is true real-world magic, and I strove to faithfully manifest every nuance and atmospheric detail of the character. The White stockings not only fulfilled character accuracy, but also helped me settle into an elegant, composed posture when posing. The vintage venue in Chengdu was a dream match for this aesthetic; when the lights and shadows fell across the room, it felt like stepping directly into that world. Whether playing chess or sipping tea, every movement was aimed at breathing life into the character's soul.

Ultimately, every cosplay project is a fresh interpretation of a beloved character. From fabric selection and prop finishing to seamless on-set communication with the photographer, every step relies on team synergy. This Phoebe Cosplay fulfilled a personal dream of mine, and I hope to share the joy and wonder this character brings with all of you.
