[Aemeath Cosplay] Wuthering Waves Convention Photos, A Perfect Fusion of Lightness and Sharpness

Taking advantage of this convention opportunity, I finally took this set of photos for Aemeath Cosplay that I had been longing to do.

To be honest, even before this convention, I had been eagerly looking forward to cosplaying Aemeath because her design color scheme really speaks to me. Pure white, light pink, and pale purple interweave, plus a touch of cyan-blue accent, making the overall feel very light and aesthetic, but at the same time carrying a crisp, sharp edge that doesn't drag its feet.

To shoot this set of convention photos, the photographer and I specially chose an empty, cool-toned industrial-style parking lot as the background. Why choose such a minimalist cement background? Because it maximizes the prominence of the character's colors and costume details. Looking at the photos, you should feel that the hazy, cool background perfectly sets off Aemeath's white-to-pink gradient skirt and strap design to look even more dreamy, easily maxing out that characteristic airiness of 2D Cosplay.

The foot traffic at the convention venue was actually quite massive, so it was inevitable that people would walk by or interrupt the view during the shoot. Fortunately, the photographer's snapshot rhythm was excellent, successfully blurring out the cluttered background using a large aperture and telephoto lens. Those few strands of pink long hair floating in the air also took quite a bit of effort. To display the casual and flowing feel of the original design, we used a mini electric fan on-site to create airflow, trying angles over and over again until capturing the feel of hair strands spreading naturally in the wind. Though it was a bit frantic on-site continuously tidying up the wig and bangs, seeing the final cut made it feel completely worth it.

This time, I also specially combined several different poses to express Aemeath's temperament. In the sitting photo, I crossed my legs, leaning against the skirt hem and boots, making the overall feel lean toward lazy, which beautifully highlights the touch of coldness in her gaze. Meanwhile, the photo standing and holding the longbow prop intentionally tightened the core, lifting the weapon to the shoulder to showcase her sharpness and power as a combat character. As for that group of single-leg standing snapshots, they were intended for a bit of an agile and playful feel, incidentally displaying the leg straps and white tights details; I personally really love that stark contrast of being both sharp and cute in a Coser daily life.

In addition to taking photos, I also met many fellow fans who love this character at the convention venue. We exchanged tips on making props and makeup/styling, which was highly rewarding. To fit Aemeath's image this time, the eye makeup intentionally elongated the outer corners of the eyes, and the pupils wore warm golden-toned colored contacts, which combined with highlights made it incredibly photogenic in front of the lens.

The brilliant aspect of the entire outfit, besides the color scheme, lies in those agile decorations. For instance, the sheer tulle at the edge of the skirt and the layered design of the cummerbund shake naturally when walking, which also heavily tests the timing for snapshots. Although this set of photos mainly focuses on sitting poses and half-body shots, every tiny detail of the costume, makeup, and props was fully presented in the lens.

Also, the sense of atmosphere during the shoot is, I think, very important. The empty venue brought a special sense of echo, as if isolating me from the outside world, leaving only the lens and the character itself. Besides the character's posture in the photos, I also really love the tiny light specks floating randomly in the frame, like dust dancing under light beams, giving the originally cold and hard industrial cement floor a hint of psychedelic and 2D atmosphere.

However, speaking of the most exhausting part, it was still maintaining various high-difficulty poses. Because I had to consider the placement of the skirt hem, the direction of the hair, and the visual balance of the weapon, many photos were actually taken while my body was completely frozen. Especially the one standing on a single leg and twisting the torso, it not only required stabilizing the center of gravity but also maintaining a relaxed facial expression, which was truly a substantial challenge. But seeing the natural body language in the final cut, that sense of achievement is also very real.

Alright, I'll temporarily share this set of convention photos here. If there is an opportunity in the future, I will try more actions and scenes to showcase more different traits of Aemeath's character. I hope this set of pictures allows everyone to feel the charm of this styling itself.
