This Phoebe cosplay photoshoot is finally completed. For the shoot, we chose a studio with a very classical fantasy aesthetic. The moment I received the costume, I was captivated by its blue-and-white color scheme. This cosplay outfit is remarkably layered in design: the dark blue vest features subtle jacquard patterns and golden trim, worn over a white stand collar with fluffy white ruffled cuffs, overlaid with light blue flowing sleeves, plus blue tassels and metallic chains around the waist, making the overall details incredibly rich. To recreate the character's hairstyle, I prepared long straight blonde hair with braided plaits on both sides, paired with a blue beret and four white fluffy pom-pom hair accessories. Wearing purple colored contacts and highlighting pink-orange tones in the eye makeup brought the entire look together.
For the lower half, I selected a white pleated mini skirt and white over-the-knee socks, crafted from a thick, form-fitting fabric. To achieve the best visual effect, plenty of thought went into pose design. For instance, when sitting on the floor, I stretched my legs forward as much as possible, which not only fully displayed the over-the-knee Stockings and leg lines, but also made the skirt pleats drape beautifully. While sitting in seiza, clasping hands before the chest or resting a finger against the chin kept the gaze gentle and soft. When standing, holding onto the faux red maple tree or lifting one leg slightly backward added dynamic motion to the frame. The studio backdrop was thoughtfully decorated with bamboo matting across the floor, hung with translucent gauze drapes printed with brush calligraphy behind, accented with red maples, green bamboos, as well as a small wooden basket and chair as props; as light fell across the set, the overall atmosphere was fully dialed in. The neckline design and shoulder cut of this costume are very structured, easily accentuating the drape of the back and curves of the waist in profile shots.
During the shoot, to keep the visuals from feeling monotonous, we explored diverse angles—not only straight-on, but also profile and back views. Keeping the back straight and steady while kneeling in profile actually consumed considerable stamina. At times, everyone experimented repeatedly just to wait for the right light or adjust a prop's placement. As a Wuthering Waves player, being able to cosplay Phoebe made me genuinely happy. The fabric exhibits a delicate sheen under studio lighting, especially across the blue sections, offering exceptional texture. Pairing it with white Stockings this time not only stayed faithful to the Cute girl character design, but also visually unified the styling. When capturing seated and leg-lift poses, capturing the texture of the Stockings under the light required precise angles to avoid blowing out highlights. Reviewing the selections afterward, that quiet focus before the camera was palpable. The entire process was not merely a showcase of the costume, but a dedicated attempt to bring the character to life. I hope everyone enjoys this photo set steeped in Chinese fantasy charm, and I look forward to creating more satisfying works in the future.
