This shoot at Beijing 798 specifically selected abandoned railway tracks and a heavy industrial factory area as the location, primarily using this cold and rigid environment to contrast with the vibrant brightness of the outfit. Photographer Master Lanqiao Shendeng paid great attention to perspective relationships during the shoot; the first three top-down shots on the tracks used desaturation to suppress the surrounding environment into monochrome black, white, and gray, retaining only the colors of the red hair and yellow dress to emphasize the visual contrast of being isolated within the Industrial style texture.
During makeup and styling prep, to stay close to character traits, I experimented with different colored contact lenses, while the hairstyle used the classic red twin tails. The wind was fierce on the day of the shoot, especially when standing on the high platform, making the skirt hem and hair difficult to control and lowering the yield of good shots. However, the unexpected gusts unexpectedly brought a casual, fragile fragmented beauty. I really love the low-angle composition in Photo 5—sitting on a rusted railing, using lens perspective to elongate the leg lines and highlighting the color collision between the red high heels and yellow dress.
The process was actually quite demanding, requiring continuous posture adjustments to adapt to the light, and feet getting poked by the gravel along the tracks. The post-processing approach this time also leaned toward strong contrast; especially when shooting under direct sunlight, the hard-edged light and shadow perfectly matched the character's persona of being tough on the outside yet tender within. Walking through the factory area in this outfit conveyed a very direct visual impact; combining this realistic wasteland style with the character's inherent charm was a truly meaningful exploration. Thanks to the photographer for patient guidance on set, capturing the most natural moments across countless position adjustments, giving me a deeper appreciation of this character's expressive power.
